We visited this place for the Thursday specials after seeing many positive reviews.

Went here for the famous roast beef mozzarella special, didn’t fully live up to the hype for me. Beef was bland and bread was hard to eat. The only reason this place was three stars for me was the mozzarella. Let me tell ya, it’s literally the freshest mozzarella you will taste in your life. Absolutely amazing and def the saving grace for the sandwich. Gravy had a nice flavor and made the beef easier to eat as well.

Over 20 years ago. I used to regularly go there for lunch when I worked in Weehawken for Seatrain. Recently, a friend from the UK was visiting his brother, who lives in Hoboken, and I told him to go for the best mozzarella sandwich. Since then, I have been craving one, so I ordered it to be picked up. I’m disabled and the only negative I can say was it wasn’t ready, and I had to wait for it to be made. Something I was trying to avoid because it’s painful for me to stand.

This place has the best Roast beef with mozzarella and gravy. The flavor it so delicious and I was visiting NYC to see my family and we were on our way to the Saint Ann Feast, but before we head there, my cousin suggested we stop for these amazing sandwiches and the day’s special was the Roast beef with mozzarella and gravy. We added roasted red peppers and I am not usually the person to like peppers. But this was absolutely delicious and I would take a whole flight JUST for these sandwiches. The service was great. Definitely worth driving from Brooklyn, even though the sandwiches weren’t the reason of going to Hoboken, NJ. I was looking at the reviews and I was sort of shocked on amount of stars it got, because this place is really good. I haven’t tried the other sandwiches but this is the one that I tried and I was satisfied. Great place, keep up the gravy goodness!

They make Tetris stacks out of their sandwiches. Came here for the roasted beef and mozz and the sandwich delivered. I had 1 half right away and the other half a few hours later. The other half was definitely better imo. It allowed the bread to soak up the gravy. I wish they made them fresh like they did pre Covid. You used to be able to pick your own bread but I get it things change. Will definitely be back to get it again when I’m in the area. $18 for a whole sandwich. Don’t forget to bring cash.

This has been one of those few must go places I have been looking fwd to visit for a while. First, this place was overcrowded, so I had to wait for around 15 minutes before I got to order. Know that they serve different specialty sandwiches based on the day of the week. I went on Saturday, so I got to try the roast beef with mozzarella. I got half plain / half with hot peppers (quite spicy!). The cheese is fresh and delicious, while the bread and roast beef are okay. What really makes the sandwich is the gravy, which you can order on the side or have your sandwich dipped in the gravy. If you’re going to eat the sandwich immediately, I recommend you have it dipped in the gravy. Either way, the gravy is an absolute must. This is a pretty good sandwich, a little bit overhyped I think given the wait line and all that, but still worth trying. Bring cash with you.

I can’t stop thinking about the sandwiches that I ate from here. They are some of the best pieces of food I have ever experienced. The Italian classic with sweet peppers, the Italian sausage special on Wednesday. But the Thursday roast beef special was life changing. Good people. You can feel the history of the shop
