Phenomenal food! Our favorite was the steak tartare starter, the way they prepared the milk bread was sooo good!

The food and drinks were meh. We sat at the bar next to two other people who were also not impressed with their steak — they got the bone-in NY strip and it was not flavorful. We got the tri-tip and it wasn’t much better. The marrow was way undercooked, couldn’t actually get any marrow out. The tiger shrimp dish was way over priced for seven shrimp and was over cooked. Many of the cocktails were premade and came from a tap so be warned. Looks to be a hip, date spot, but doesn’t deliver on the food quality. Oh, and the sustainability thing is marketing. Saw egg whites being used and all the egg yolks being tossed into the compost. Char sui pork belly was the best thing on the menu. Skip everything else.

Food was incredible, service and vibes were amazing, too. We had tri tip and prime rib, along with crème brûlée, asparagus, Japanese milk rolls, and scallop ceviche. All couldn’t have been better. Highly recommend!

What a great experience! Our server was so bright and friendly and made amazing recommendations which is important in a place where EVERYTHING looks good. This restaurant was on my list to try for quite a while and when I finally made it in I wished I had gone sooner. This will go straight into my top 3 steakhouses in Denver. I had the Maria Tri Tip and Mac Croquettes along with several other stolen bites that were just as good. Go Check it out!

Instead of everyone getting our own steak, we split the 30oz bone in strip with the bone marrow add-on. All the sides were incredibly delicious. Whipped potatoes were so creamy. Sunchokes have a great flavor and cauliflower texture. Spinach side dish is surprisingly bright and goes well with the classic steak dinner. Cabbage was unique and worth trying with a crispy sesame crust. The beef tar tar sandwich was surprisingly good too – well seasoned with a crispy bread. We ordered all the dessert. I personally loved the passion fruit chocolate sesame cake because the tanginess and slightly savory flavor mixed really well together. Second was the torte but mostly because of ice cream. Least favorite was the creme brule. Overall loved the dinner – came out to around $450 for 3 people.

A5 Steakhouse wasn’t bad per say, but there were a few things that led me to leave a 3 star rating. The kitchen was out of two of the items we wanted to order. It happens, but it would have been nice to know up front rather than having the server come back twice after we’d placed our order. Not her fault, and I can’t really be upset about it but still it’s a bit frustrating after you’ve gotten excited about eating it. The service was a bit lacking compared to other steakhouses. We love eating at steakhouses and will splurge on the cuts of beef and wine which we did last night. I don’t expect the server to be waiting on us hand and foot all night but it would have been nice to get a little more attention when you’re spending almost $500. Especially when the people sitting behind us are being checked on by every server, chef, and manager in the house. The food was very good as well as the wine. Ultimately it did not feel like the experience was worth the price spent and we were just another table to turn and burn. I’d love to give it another shot but with so many incredible steakhouses in Denver and Colorado I can’t say I’ll be back to A5.

So good, very highly recommend. We got the mac & cheese croquettes to start, so wonderful. For dinner we got the Japanese A5 (just lovely) and the Bavette Chef Max Style with whipped potatoes. Could not have had a better line up. The bone marrow from going Chef Max style was such a treat. Give it a try, its definitely worth it.
