This is the place you are looking for. Small town feel, big time flavor!! Started with the gator gallops and boudin balls. The boudin balls are light and almost fluffy and delicious. Gator gallops are top notch. The crawfish pistollettes are not too crunchy and not too soggy and filled with great etoufee. The hushpuppies were moist and maybe the best thing I ate here.

I had the catfish and large shrimp dinner. I ordered my catfish well done. The server asked me if I wanted my catfish in strips instead of filet. I choose filet but my next visit I may try it cut into strips. The catfish and shrimp were delicious. The sides were great I had french fries and coleslaw and two hush puppies. I was please with all the food. The service was on spot. Not much chit chatting because it was busy in there. But my drinks were refilled without having to ask and the condiments came out prompt. Oh by the way they serve catfish not Swai I always ask that question. The angle oysters wrapped in bacon was well prepared.

Richard’s Boudin was a staple in our home 10 years ago, before we left LA. Several years later, when we visited LA relatives, we found that the recipe must have been changed as the boudin wasn’t nearly as good. Fast forward to 2023: I just purchase a package of spicy boudin, at Rouses, and we couldn’t eat it. The meat was tasteless and mushy; the only chewy part of the boudin was the undercooked rice which was a major ingredient. So disappointed in the cost-cutting change.

The food here is delicious and the prices are more that reasonable. This is our second time, and you must try the mud bug riders. Wish we lived closer than 4 hours away. The service was attentive. The atmosphere is plain and nothing to look at, but that is probably how they keep their prices low.

Crawfish 15/10. Pistolettes 9/10. Server (Malari) 15/10 as gave us recommendations on what to try and was honest and spot on. Boudin balls were about 5/10. Fried shrimp were 8/10 fried to perfection but not as seasoned as I would have liked. Bacon burger 9/10. Very nice homey place with nice servers and very tasty food at an affordable price. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Cajun food you will not be dissapointed.

Bought a gallon of the seafood gumbo for family. Got it home, heated it up, and it was spoiled. So upsetting. However, after letting them know, they gave us a full refund. These things can happen.

First time ever getting more food than I could eat without ordering something extra. The seafood platter was delicious and has a great portion. The seafood gumbo was also an excellent choice. Service was fast and friendly.

Dropped in for a quick purchase of boudin balls. The fried ball was done just right. No burnt taste, not overly dry. The crust actually added to the ball by providing a different texture than the link. Cashier was very nice and friendly to deal with both in body language and verbal.
