Food was simply delicious and sides are generous. I ordered the jerk chicken which was on point and the baked Mac and cheese was just as I hoped. Made with love.collard greens were perfect while the cornbread and coleslaw complimented the meal .The price I paid wad remarkably cheaper than I expected and I can’t wait to return to try some of the other choices he has to offer.

I tried this place today and it was 10/10. First off, the potato salad is the best I’ve ever had. And I had some good potato salad before. The fried shrimp was crispy and flavorful. The baked salmon was moist and lightly seasoned. I recommend this place to anyone who has taste buds. This place won’t disappoint . Also, for the amount of food you get, the price isn’t bad. I will be coming back.

I drove way from Newport, RI to eat here and it was worth the drive! I accidentally got green beans instead of an extra side of collards and it was the best mistake ever (LOL) because the green beans were so good! I can tell they put a lot of love into the food and the customer service was amazing. I will be back with some friends! <3

This restaurant is amazing. It’s hard to find food this quality and decent priced in CT lately with inflation. What was beautiful was all of the newspaper articles of the restaurant playing a huge part in community. The chef does a great job running the place. Could be cleaner, yes, but cannot complain about the food. Totally worth it.

Had a good experience one time last week that I wanted it again this week but this Sunday was not as good. Went there at 11:30 and they were still closed when it states they are open at 11. Called back for an order around 2:30 just to get extra wet and mushy white rice with beans, fried chicken was good as well as the cabbage, mac and cheese dry and not very flavorful as was the corn bread. Very disappointed since the first time was great. Will have to travel out further now to find a better soul food spot

Fantastic!! The fried chicken is so flavorful, every side we have tried has been spot on. Okra, collards, Mac and cheese and red beans and rice, can’t go wrong with any of them. Can’t wait to go back.
