We placed the order online at about 1:00 pm for a 5:00 pm pick up. We arrived at 5:00 pm and had to wait a half hour before we got our food. Then we went home to eat and things got even worse. The beans were dry, the Mac and Cheese was utterly unremarkable and the tips were hard, dry and almost inedible. The sauce was very good but it could not save the tips. After all the hype about Shawn’s we were extremely disappointed… The search for good barbecue continues…

This place is awesome! We’ve always had a great experience, food is wonderful, prices are very reasonable, and the owner seems like a really good dude. Tried the ribs the first time today and they were excellent. Best pulled pork in town and I love the greens as well! Shawn’s BBQ was awesome! Yeah, I said “awesome”, not “awful!” (Ha! inside joke with Shawn who made us feel like we’d been eating there for years) BBQ was some of the best I’ve had anywhere! I got the brisket & green beans. Brisket was moist, not wet and full of flavor with the perfect amount of seasoning. Green beans were great! I will definitely be eating there again, both for dine-in and carry-out!

I have to say that hands down this place has the best BBQ I have EVER tasted! The ribs are always so tender and delicious. The BBQ sauce is his signature sauce made up each day. I have never like potato salad until his. It’s his mom’s recipe but made by his daughter every day. Shawn is very friendly and always makes you feel like family. Prices are great and the food is always worth whatever you pay. Every bite is a little piece of heaven 😀 He never disappoints.

We ordered a lb of brisket, large potato salad and baked beans, and it was great! No fat on the brisket, which I loved because I hate fat. The potato salad might be the best I ever had and the baked beans were sweet and didn’t have any meat in them, which I liked. We will definitely be back!

A true hole in the wall but that is a good thing when reviewing a BBQ joint. Shawn is a super nice guy & you’ll probably see him out front tending to one of his smokers. Don’t be shocked if you order something & it’s not available, Shawn won’t serve any meat until he feels like it’s ready. A good sauce & ask for the spicy version you’re into that!
