Still a down home bar/restaurant which I appreciate but the atmosphere doesn’t seem the same. You kinda feel judged as soon as you walk in. Food has gone down hill while prices went up. Both of the burgers in my horseshoe were flavorless and burnt. For this being a local restaurant two people cost as much as two people at the Golden Coral.

This place has great food! Catfish fritters and their horseshoes are the best! The wait staff is another story….went there after 7pm on a Tuesday. A few tables were finishing up and maybe 3 tables that 2 waitresses had to wait on. Once you got something, you never saw the waitress again. Not once were we checked on. Had to wait 15 minutes after we got to go boxes for our check. You brought us boxes, you don’t think we’re ready to pay and leave?the waitresses were non existent. Idk where they went in between bringing food out. Won’t be back for a long while.

We discovered this place purely by accident about 3 years ago, which was rather surprising considering we’ve lived in the area for 20 years! It is a bit off the “beaten path.” The food is fantastic. The staff is wonderful. Prices have gone up a bit due to COVID, but that’s true everywhere we go. The only downside is that we cannot dine in here because my wife and I have social anxiety and the place is quite small inside. We tried once, but even with only a few tables filled, it was too loud and claustrophobic for us. That, however, will not stop us from ordering takeout of their amazing food!
