Crown jewel and staple of Downers Grove for years. Great hot dog stand that serves all the favorites. They always give you a healthy amount of fries with your order and they taste fantastic. You can Scooby size your meal and then you get a ridiculous amount of fries. I love their 2 hot dog special with fries and a drink. Bonus, this place has Green River in their fountain drinks. Enjoy!

This place is quite delicious, or at least their italian beef and fries are, since that’s all I got while I was in the area on business. The meat was juicy and tasty, and all of the ingredients were good quality. Make sure you get it wet, with mozzarella cheese and both hot and sweet peppers.

Finally got a chance to give this place a try. Service was great, atmosphere was ok but the most important was meh at best. Beef was not even sliced right and completely dry, bread was soggy and falling apart. The hot dog itself was ok but as a sandwich not at all bread was soggy.

Food is great, and I like coming here more since Portillo’s sold out and has been going down the hill. I want to rate this plate higher, but I really question how sanitary the kitchen is. On two separate occasions, I have poured Green River from the soda fountain and it has tasted like mold and had pieces floating around in it. Today, I ordered some mozarella sticks, and the container of sauce they gave me was bulging. When I opened it, it was clearly under pressure (not a good sign), and it smelled like vinegar. I can only imagine how sick I would have gotten if I had eaten it. I really want to rate this place five stars, but its literally the only restaurant in recent memory that I’ve been to where I wonder if I’ll get sick eating the food.

Good place to satisfy a craving for Chicago-style hot dogs, but not somewhere we would go out of our way to go back to during the middle of the week. Two hot dogs and a large fry was $11–fries were crispy and salty, an 8/10, and we would give the hot dogs an 8/10. No indoor dining right now, we took our meal to go and ate at home. Fun exterior!

Placed order for a “double bacon cheese burger ” thats 11.99 and a small fry for dine in. Total 16.75 received 3 dollars 5 cents in change. Burger came out as a single patty slightly pink. I won’t return or advise others to dine there, lifes too shoft to be scammed out or 20 cents and a hamburger patty.

Love the location, vibe, and quality of the food! Little disappointed in the prices however. Spent 12 bucks on two dogs and fries so felt a little out of the price range. After I ordered I looked closer at the menu and there was a deal for that plus a drink that the waitress didn’t tell me about.

Burned a Time-Out and dipped into Scooby’s for a quick snack this afternoon. We are visiting the area and were drawn in by the nostalgic look and neon vapor. We enjoyed the hand cut fries of the large variety. Would have preferred them to be a little crispier, they were a lil limp, but that’s a personal preference. Place was very clean with the exception of the floor mat by the soda machine. That was so sticky it nearly pulled my shoes off when I walked away. Cool little spot, bet the pork missiles are de’lish.
