We were traveling through Monroe on our way to Tucson. We googled best places to eat in Monroe. Big Mommas fine food came up and got such good reviews we decide to give it a try. All I can say is WOW!! We had the fried chicken with 3 sides. Between the two of us we got mashed potatoes with gravy (delicious homemade gravy), black eye peas, Mac n cheese, green beans, red beans and sausage and homemade rolls. The food was delicious!!! The portions are large enough that we have enough for supper. If you’re looking for delicious home cooking this is your place. The staff was very warm and friendly as were the customers.

Omg…so so good! Food was a 10/10. Every bite was absolutely delicious. My husband ate everything, and he doesn’t even like southern cooking. You could cut the country fried steak with a plastic knife. Beans were amazing, so much flavor. Staff were super friendly and attentive. 4 stars for the atmosphere because the tables needed to be wiped down. If we lived in the area, this would be a regular place for us.

The food and service were to DIE FOR. so good. I felt at home the whole time. It was hot in the building but the food and people made up for it. I had the fried chicken, cabbage, black eyed peas and hot water corn bread with a koolaid and I was in heaven.

Spent maybe 5 minutes in here to pick out my meal, very friendly staff. Had fried chicken and ribs. Wow! The chicken was moist and flavorful and the ribs were made to perfection. Ribs were smoky and almost fall-off-the bone pull! Definitely coming back while I’m in town.

Wowza. Talk about the prime example of Southern Down Home Cooking, Big Momma’s is it. The smell of yumminess hits you as you approach the door. 15 people waiting online patiently with stomachs growling as the Cafeteria Style Hot Plate line crept forward. I hated that I couldn’t have one of each. I opted for Liver and Onions with Gravy and Rice. Corn and red beans. Dont forget the Hot Water Cornbread. Everything was great and I am looking forward to my next culinary adventure there.
