28″ pizza! You can only eat 1 slice because it is so huge! Every bite was delicious! Quaint place an old downtown. Nice atmosphere, very pleasant staff, easy to get too. I would definitely recommend trying this massive pie! You won’t be disappointed!

What is there to say? The pizza was pretty good! One of the better places in the Newport News area. Great location downtown near the shipyard, local breweries and other history. Pies were huge! 28 inches of pure goodness. Barely fit through the door! Enough to serve multiple people for sure and prices weren’t astronomical for the amount of food given. Would recommend if downtown and wanting to check a new place out!

This was my 3rd visit to Benny’s. Based on other reviews, I have not had an issue during any of my visits with the pizza being undercooked, overcooked or lack of toppings.

This place has one size pie, 28″, (they do sell slices) for those who don’t want to bother with the math, this is 3X the volume of a 16″ pizza, these are monsters, and a nice thin crust NY style. I called ahead and was told 45 minutes, 45 min later I arrived to an empty restauraant and my pie was not yet in oven. They have few toppings, I asked for mushrooms and found out they don’t have them, that was a first for me. It came out, looked good, and off I went, not till I got home and pulled the first slice did I find that half the pie was cgarred underneath. Not all of it, just half, I assume the oven needed to be cleaned. Had I not had a burned pie I would have called it a 3 because of lack of toppings, really a shame, I like the idea.

Great place. Wish I had known about it sooner. The pizza crust is perfect – crispy outside, soft inside.

What a great place to get a HUGE delicious slice! Great selection of canned craft beer, and very cool and comfortable place to eat. Service at 2pm on a weekday was really quick. Will definitely be coming back.

This great little spot has been right under my nose for a long time and I didn’t even know it. Been in the area for four years now and just found this place yesterday after stopping by the post office during my lunch break and WOW I wish I had found it sooner! The prices are GREAT my wife and I ate here during lunch for $14! We each got a slice and a drink, and trust me one slice is enough! Crust was great very crispy and light, the sauce is good and cheese and toppings are plentiful for a $6 slice that size. I’ve already recommended this spot to a bunch of people I work with in the Yard but I’m going to keep spreading the word. Keep up the great work here guys!

The largest slice of pizza I’ve ever had. And it was very tasty too. One slice was all I needed for lunch. The service was very friendly and the place was ship shape. I wish we had one of these in Richmond. If you are in downtown Newport News Benny’s is definitely worth a stop for eat in our take out. A pizza experience you’ll remember.

Benny’s was talked up a long time before I finally tried it and I am glad I finally did. They had the bacon cheeseburger pizza as the special when I went there and let me tell you it tasted great. It had hamburger, bacon and beer cheese.
