The food here is excellent! I totally do not understand the bad reviews. I have eaten at many Asian restaurants and the food at this location is prepared perfectly. Everything is made from scratch with the best ingredients. I have given many reviews and almost 1 million people have seen my post. I will give a bad review when a place deserves it and I will give a great review when it is true a great place. People of Carlsbad are doing themselves a disservice if they are not giving this restaurant a try.

I would say pretty much ok. On the good side, the service was great. However the food was only ok and seemed to be a sort of mix of real Japanese and Asian in general. The restaurant was also a bit dingy, for instance a deep layer of dust on the window sills.

I ordered rice and stir fry vegetables for take out. I was served spoiled rice (cottage cheese consistency and smell) swimming in a brown sauce that was also rancid and vegetables that, to be fair, seemed fresh (made the same day from fresh produce). I paid $15 for this meal and after 2 bites I stopped eating and after 20 minutes I threw up. I’m from out of town so I wasn’t able to drive back but if I could have I would’ve gotten my money back because this service is and was unacceptable.

I’ve given this place a 5 star rating since the day it opened. But every since they transferred the manager from the dragon buffet things have gotten worse. I took my wife to dinner the other night and found a hair in my food. I told the manager I had lost my appetite and would simply like the check. He then rolled his eyes and gave me and my wife a bad attitude and told us since I didn’t finish my food he would charge me extra. I told him I’ve always finished my food and never had a problem. he continued to give me an attitude and was very rude to me.

This place used to get packed and now it doesn’t I think I know why. They were out of almost everything we tried to order. The taco plate was super small and $20 and the sandwich I got was $15. It was a decent sandwich but not at that price. The staff was decent too but they messed up our wings so they took a long time. 4/10 I’d go if someone else was paying and I was desperately hungry…

Ok, if you like blaring loud music, this is the place. If you’re expecting reasonable timely service, go somewhere else. the waitress took our order promptly, and the drinks came fast, but it was literally an hour for our food to arrive. the food (fish and chips) was good, just not waiting for an hour good

The food was OK but not something I would go out of my way for. I was disappointed to find that their Japanese cuisine menu only contained a handful of rolls and a handful of hibachi choices. I ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll and Shrimp Hibachi. The roll was surprisingly good with whole portions of tuna and good flavor. The hibachi tasted like it was cooked with American brown gravy and was not for my taste. The service was great but the restaurant had more of a bar-club vibe than it did a restaurant vibe.
