I ordered steak tacos from this place and my meat was apparently burnt. But, I was told that it isn’t burnt and that that’s how all of their orders are. She said that she placed several orders with no complaints as if all the food is exactly the same every time it’s prepared. I spent 30 dollars on this meal and was offered nothing in return but a 10 minute wait on hold (in which I ended by hanging up). I was told that they’d take my number down to speak to the owner. The lady never came back to the phone. Horrible customer service experience and no kind of assistance with the issue.

Great food! The fajitas are delicious. The shrimp quesadillas are fantastic too! The service is attentive and friendly. They’d always come by with a refill before my drink was empty and always checked up on my table. All around great restaurant!

Ordered food from there yesterday and it was very good. It was a carry out order and the order was correct but I think it is unfair to charge for chips and salsa when you get them free if you dine in.

This is a great Pepe’s and a credit to the name. While the majority of Pepe’s seem to have gone down hill in my personal opinion and obviously many others which is evident by all the restaurant closings this one is above and beyond the average. The food is always great, always hot, and the staff is wonderfully friendly. To receive five stars for a restaurant in my book it would have to be one of the best restaurants I have ever been to and I wouldn’t go that far but it definitely one of my go to spots in Valpo.

This place used to be awesome we ate here often over the last 8 years ! Now they water down the salsa and have hired of staff of rude idiots ! Never wasting my money at this place again ! The steak sucks no flavor and the pork is so bland it’s inedible. Not to mention the damage to you car just trying to make it threw the pot hole filled parking lot ! Very trash establishment and word to the wise….. beware the bathrooms!!!

Food is hit or miss and same with service. No consistency. Pork and chicken tacos are soggy. Great fish tacos though, best I have had. Margaritas are loaded with sweet and sour mix and bartender doesn’t seem to know how to fix the problem. Prices are not bad for food.

Tacos are good. I don’t like that they added a 3 dollar tip themselves. I ordered to go picked up my order myself. I signed the bottom of my receipt but forgot to put anything on the tip. Won’t be back again.

Easily the best Mexican food of any Mexican Restaurant in the area— and this comes from someone who has been to them ALL! The family who owns this place are welcoming and friendly people. The recent remodel looks fantastic. I love that they have special parties for kids every month or so, in which you can bring your children to participate in fun free activities and have free food! The last one I went to had Easter egg coloring, egg hunt, face painting, and pics with the Easter Bunny! Seriously the nicest thing I have EVER seen a family-owned restaurant do!!! They also have hosted benefits for many people in need throughout the community. The bulk of the kitchen and serving staff have literally been there for decades and always remember my name and my kids. I will always continue to go to this place, and I recommend it to anyone!

Food was very good but only dislike was the smoking in the dining area while we were eating. It should be smoke free. My server nikki was very friendly. I would eat here again and i hope they become smoke free.

Had tostadas, very good. Service was good as well. Very small, because it’s a bar they allow smoking. I would go back for a late lunch when they’re not busy. Dinner would be to smokey for me if the bar was full.
