Food is delicious!! It can take a while for some of the menu items, but it’s definitely worth the wait. We had the brown stewed chicken which was just so tender and flavorful. The fried chicken was great a well. The beef patties are flaky and lightly spicy. You can’t go wrong with any of the menu items. Definitely give this place a try. I guarantee you’ll be back.

(wife posting) My husband and I drove two hours for Jamaican food. I was not disappointed. The goat was tender and well seasoned, and the rice and peas brought me memories of my mom’s cooking. If we vacation in California again, we will be back .

I have been patronizing Rock Steady prior to the name change. The taste and flavors are by far the best in San Diego. But this review gets low stars because the sheer audacity to try to scam the customer. I attached a picture of the “large” oxtails. Not only is this not a large size portion, these oxtails are cut in half. The presentation is to fool the unexpecting. The shame! I would rather pay more than pay the same just to get less. Do better!

This is the most delicious Jamaican food I’ve had since I came back from Jamaica. The oxtail was so moist and delicious. It fell off the bone. The plantains and the salad were so delicious. We sat outside on the patio. It was so beautiful. The owners are beautiful kind people who let me try. They’re amazing. Oh Mika that’s flavored with ginger. It was crazy good and they’re Jamaican. Patty is amazingly delicious. I can’t wait to go back next week. They’re having a huge party on Saturday night for their seventh anniversary. I hope God blesses their business go you won’t be sad.

Over charged and speed of service is terrible, the lady with braids should let someone else take the food orders she is full of attitude and demands a tip and takes 30% tip electronically with out asking to mess up the order and give attitude!

We had oxtails, rice and peas, cabbage and fried plantain. Everything was very very good! We eat here every time we visit San Diego. Owners are great people with great customer service. Best authentic Jamaican food we ever had. Will certainly return and would definitely recommend. Go early!!!!!They sell out of oxtails quickly. Their jerk chicken is excellent as well. You will not be disappointed unless you wait until late to go because they do sell out! The amount of food you get per entree is enough for 2 people to share but this food is so good, you will want your own! Get your own!!!

As a Jamaican it’s always risky finding a good Jamaican food spot but this was great. I enjoyed my food and the sorrel. Actually I’d come back for the sorrel every day if I would. Lol but I got the oxtail with rice and peas. I finished my plate before leaving so that says something because I never finish food.
