Amazing food and service in a beautiful location! Pupusas were delicious, of course, but so were the mains! The sauces on the chicken and the clams were so flavorful that we ordered more tortillas to sop it all up. So happy they found a brick and mortar location so we can come back on the regular!

This outdoor paradise serves some of the most authentic, but modernized Salvadoran food in the East Bay. Using seasonal ingredients, the menu is always adjusting to highlight the best flavors of right now. What I come back for are the pupusas. Add the slaw, rice and beans and it’s the perfect pairing for cool Oakland evening. The waitstaff and chef are delightful to converse with making this spot a well-worth-it gem.

Popoca is my favorite place to eat in Oakland. I am from Colombia and this food makes me feel at home. Fresh pupusas made in wood fire, Salvadorean ceviche kissed on the fire, side of chicharron also made in wood… omg . This place is awesome. Each plate is elaborated with so much love and decorated beautiful!
