By far the best chicken wings I’ve had in Springfield, combined with the hot sauce and lemon pepper seasoning it made for a great lunch. The food was priced greatly as well. It was empty when I came and ordered which is a shame considering the quality of the food. The community should rally around spots like these before all we’re left with are McDonald’s and burger kings on every corner.

Don’t go here! They will charge you $1.50 for extra mild sauce but don’t put any extra mild sauce on there. I ordered 10 wings with heavy mild sauce. 5 wings had some sauce on there and the others had NO sauce on there. The owner stated she will not refund my money because I didn’t call until the next morning or return the food. I didn’t get my food until almost 9 pm last night and called about it this morning AFTER I realize I was charged for extra sauce that I didn’t receive.

Arrived a little after high noon on Friday. Neon sign in the window said open. Only one car in the parking lot. Seemed strangely deserted for Friday lunch. I didn’t order or go inside. The posted menu had lots of offerings that looked great. There were very few other options for fried chicken nearby.

Update 5 stars to 2: After almost 2 months in operation this restaurant has been came a typical Springfield restaurant. Serving cold food, incorrect orders at a rate of 50% to 75% and non-existent customer service. They put hot meat on top of cold fries. They constantly do not put sauce on orders. Sauce on and sauce on the side are 2 different products, adding sauce afterward does not create the same chemical reaction. On my last visit I waited over 40 minutes for my food because they made a mistake in the back and gave my food to another customer. You can hear EVERY SINGLE THING they say in the back. I stood there and listened to them give my food away. Then give me cold fries after waiting 40 minutes while they are counting down to closing time an hour before close.

I was craving some hometown food and found this Harold’s. I went inside to order and the food was very reasonable but as I sat outside to wait on my food I started reading reviews, upon doing that I noticed a lot of comments of food not being hot which mines was hot, I seen reviews about chicken being dark fried to hard like it was in dirty grease and it definitely looked like it was fried in dirty grease. The catfish combo said 4 piece and I’m thinking I’m getting 4 pieces of fish and it was like 4 fish tenders and the fries was cooked hard and the sauce didn’t taste original. It was a total disappointment and I wouldn’t recommend going here. If you’re going to buy into a franchise at least try and keep up the quality of food to match with the name you’re using.

I went in tonight after a very long day. I must say many bad moments interrupted my day so I was pretty down going to get food for the family. Big John and Rico were very welcoming, professional and clean. I noticed John and Rico was their hands a few times and they had on masks. We enjoyed the food and I enjoyed the experience. Keep it up y’all. It’s the little things that can make one’s day/night just a little better.

I visited this location in Springfield, and I was disappointed. It didn’t compare to my experience at the Matteson Harolds Chicken, or the former Peoria Harolds. I ordered catfish fillets, a 6 pc which was $15 and I got strips and not whole fillets. And I also paid $8 for a tray of fries, which was more like 2 lrg fries, not enough sauce on my chicken, no sauce in the bag. I spent $53 dollars only to be disappointed . I debated about driving an hour to Springfield, or driving 2 hours to Matteson, for what I know is fried delicious saucy chicken. Well, I know where I’ll be going next time I really want some Harolds, because they do it right! As well as most of the Chicago area locations.
