The food here was amazing! I have to say this is some of the best sushi I had in Texas and San Antonio (I’m from the east coast here with the military so I know good sushi) since I’ve been to Texas (over a year) I have had mediocre food to say the least. Everything we had today was great. I had the prime rib which was good (didn’t love the mash potato’s but I’m not a big potato person) and my boyfriend had the ribeye and he said it was amazing and loved the fingerling potato’s. Prices are a bit high but since this was some great food it was worth it. 10/10 would recommend

We visited this restaurant for brunch on a Sunday and had a mixed experience. Unfortunately, the atmosphere inside was damp and had an unpleasant odor, and the tables and menus were sticky. However, I must say that the eggs benedict I ordered was quite enjoyable. My wife initially wanted a double cappuccino, but they couldn’t make it for whatever reason, so she settled for regular coffee. She opted for the Kona Loco for her meal, which had seared spam over rice, but surprisingly, it only had one thin slice of spam.

When you first enter you’re automatically greeted by a loud but upbeat style hangout location. There’s lots of beautiful decoratives and interior designing that gives it a cozy and well-lit tone where you’d want to celebrate or enjoy time with family and friends. Although it doesn’t necessarily scream “family oriented” it is kid-friendly and they are just as welcome so please feel free to bring all ages with you!

Kona seems to be the hip place to be. Atmosphere was OK. Service started off good but then went down after we got our food. Ordered a Hendrix Paloma.. it tasted like there was no alcohol in it and our server got me what looked to be a half shot. Making the drink better. Two burgers, a French dip and a chicken plate came out rather fast. Then I figured out why. My chicken was barely warm as was the rice. Telling me the chicken was pre-cooked. Flavors were great and I was starting so I ate it. Our server did not come and check on us until we were just about done. And I didn’t want to chase someone down. That’s not the customer’s job. All in all, I’d say try it out. The menu items sound interesting. Younger crowd as well.

The food was the best part but that’s not saying much. It was ok…glad it was happy hour prices. The server was new which would have been ok except he spent more time chatting with the other servers than serving. Got a drink order wrong and didn’t bring appetizers plates until we’d already finished. The worst part was how dirty the whole place was…it looked like it hadn’t been swept or wiped down. The bathroom was also dirty. Disappointed and won’t go back.

The atmosphere of the place was that of a mixture of a cool hang out spot. Whether you want drinks to pregame or just to wind down after getting off shift Kona Grill is your spot. They have TVs to catch the game you missed or an outdoor patio area to get an amazing experience just on the outskirts of the Shoppes at La Cantera. I had this server Branden. Really cool guy. He understood that I had never been there and was an amazing help in facilitating my order. He was extremely Knowledgeable of the menu and drink options. The guy said he’s only been there a few weeks, feels more like he owns the place. Needless to say, I’ll be back.

We were out shopping and decided to stop here. Mid-lunch time and we didn’t have to wait very long at all. Honestly, my only complaint is how FILTHY the outside patio floors are. I was wearing brand new white shoes and when we left, they were caked on the bottom with black slime. Definitely needs a power wash.
