Looking to try something new? Usta had great sampler options for both appetizers and kebabs which made our first Turkish experience easy! Our favorites were gyro meat, chicken and Kofte (ground beef and lamb) from the kebab sampler and the Haydari and Kisir on the appetizer sampler. No beer/wine so we tried the hot Turkish tea. The owner was very sweet. They have construction going on around them in Broad Ripple right now so now would be a great time to support this locally owned gem!

The food was very good, and the service was excellent. The lady who runs the restaurant makes you feel welcomed and right at home.

This place is incredible. The service was perfect. The atmosphere was down to earth and chill. Loved the music. Best part was the food. Mind blowing how well it’s seasoned. Definitely coming back.

My family and I all were celebrating a combination birthday lunch between my dad and myself. The parking was easy to access because of free parking on Sundays.

I wish I had taken pictures of the food! We arrived for dinner at a slow day and time, so I was able to snap this picture of how great Usta looks. The server was attentive, kind, and helpful. We got our drinks and meals quickly. (I ordered an adana wrap that came with seasoned rice–highly recommend!)

I have had Turkish food before but got to try some new things I hadn’t had previously when I went for lunch at Usta Turkish Restaurant for the first time. I was not disappointed. I started with the babganoush (a dish I have had before more than once but they day they didn’t have another appetizer I was more eager to try). For the main course I had mucver with salad. The lunch menu includes dessert and while I don’t usually do desserts this was the most wonderful rice pudding I have ever tasted, lightly seasoned with cardamom and cinnamon. I also had Turkish iced tea. This is a “mom and pop” place in the literal sense. The owners work there, the husband cooking while the wife greeted and served. She told me her husband picked the flowers used to make the tea. I definitely recommend it and will go back.

I love Turkish food so when I found a place basis reviews that Indiana had a nice Turkish place I jumped at the idea of a nice Halal dinner. Street parking only and the place was deserted on a Sunday night, couldn’t find any service attendants around. Finally found a lady (guess she was the owner) and we ordered Turkish red Lentil Soup, Babaganoush and Usta Mixed Kebab. The food tasted good, I will not say wow and the portions left us asking for more. We were famished, an Usta Mixed Kebab for $24 served on a single plate didn’t make the cut. Yet I give 4* for the service, otherwise I don’t think I will go back just cause of the price and food ratio.

I had been curious about this place for a while and decided that yesterday was the day. Compared to many of the other Broad Ripple restaurants yesterday, this one was noticeably empty. We ordered two of the lunch specials one gyro plate and one chicken kabob plate. The lunch specials come with an appetizer and a dessert. We got the Baba ghanoush and the lentil soup as our appetizers. The eggplant dip was good–just the right amount of smokiness but could use a bit more salt. The lentil soup was a bit of a disappointment; the flavors in the soup were a bit dull-almost watered down-compared to some of the other lentil soups that I had in the area. The meats for both dishes were great and perfectly seasoned. They come with a side of a basic side and white rice.
