The food was ok. Not the place to come have quality meat nor do they know how to cook it correctly. Medium rare. Rare. It’s all the same to them there. The rice was a bit mushy. Fries were the poor quality frozen type most places with no culinary swag offer. They serve plantain chips and a salsa sauce. The sauce was savory and citrusy. That was good. Everything else, I could have made better at home. The quality of ingredient’s used was not high quality yet they do charge over $30 for their skirt steak which again they don’t know how to cook and was chewy but flavorful. I came to support the new establishment but will not be returning. I had a humita which was like cornmeal with cheese on top. That was savory but very dry and bland. Not sure this place is stellar enough to compete in the neighborhood it rests on due to all the much better much cheaper Columbian restaurants all around La Roca. The dessert was a plain ole boxed cake. Nothing special here. It was highway robbery considering the quality of the food given and that must of the items were bland in taste. They automatically charge you 18% for service. So good waiter. Bad waiter. It don’t matter. There taking that money on the bill. I find that to be offensive to what is supposed to be hospitality. For almost $60 for a party of one I could have ate much better quality foods elsewhere.

Terrible service. Did not knowledge us when we walked. Made us wait over 20 minutes. Tables weren’t clean. Owner walked in and took the clean table for himself and his wife. He didn’t care about the people standing and waiting. What a shame. Came here on the recommendation of others.

After many attempts to find a good Ecuadorian restaurant, we found LA Rocca restaurant to be the best one in the Newark area . We were greeted with great service from Angie . Food was delicious and we will definitely come back.
