In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. This was my wife & I first visit To Black Bear Diner on Hawthorne blvd. Near Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). We went there on Saturday night for dinner There’s plenty of parking But only two handicap ♿️ we sit down at the booth The waitress came up to us To take our order The menu is like a newspaper her name was Lori She was very polite and kind.

We enjoyed brunch here at the Black Bear Diner in Torrance. We were seated within two minutes of our arrival. The service was friendly and okay. The atmosphere was nice! The decor has a log cabin/ great outdoor vibes to it. Our favorite part was the food. The food was great and the portions were more than enough. Coffee refills were nice but I had to call over the waitress on two occasions so I could ask for it. Overall, we like the Black Bear Diner and would eat here again.

Amazing service! Most dishes will be familiar with a few Black Bear twist sprinkled throughout the menu. It is amusing for adults and fun for kids. This certainly is a family oriented restaurant. If you are looking for a hardy breakfast with strong, all-one-can-drink coffee, this is the place. There was ample parking and no waiting on a Sunday morning when we arrived.

I Only have only eaten at black bear diner in Arizona…But for today it’s in Torrance… food was pretty good (but can u really screw up breakfast?Hope..not) but I had the sweet waffle with thick..cuz bacon…i really liked the waffle it had such a sweet, vanilla flavor to it. .was hoping the waffle was a little bigger cuz it is on the smaller side in comparison to other restaurants, Bacon was bacon. It was good. Service was all right. Plan on going there again and maybe try some dinner. Really want to try their fried chicken steak. Only downside which is not even the restaurants fault but having to park further down with a broken leg and crush myself through the parking lot and people parking in handicap spots that aren’t even handicapped. Just want to park and take up spaces. That’s the only complaint I have

First time at this place came in for breakfast, Wow everything was delicious, portion is big, come in hungry. They’re menu, is like a small gazette newspaper, did not know that. Thanks Manny for pointing it out to us, . Definitely have to try they’re humongous sweet cream pancake and homemade biscuit, delicious!!!!! Love the Bruce’s all meat omelette.

Always love any Black Bear Diner I’ve been to, and this one is no different. Always great service, nice and quiet atmosphere. Food is delicious and they have huge portions. Great value for the money. I highly recommend the chicken fried steak, so so good. And of course can’t go wrong with pancakes.
