We found Star Diner on a Google search. Arriving, we noticed there was no sign other than “Open”, and a sign on the door that said, “cash only”. We also noticed that there was a disproportionate number of cars present for the size of the restaurant. We wondered if it operated like the Tardis, bigger on the inside than the outside. Attempting to enter, we waited as a local exited, well versed in the rule of “close the door behind you”. (We later witnessed the correction of the non-native who did not know this rule.) The place was packed, but a table opened up almost immediately and we were able to be seated. Service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious! The menu consists of mostly breakfast foods and some sandwiches, including hamburgers.

I love star diner, it’s my favorite place to get breakfast in Norwalk. If you come, you have to try the “trash” potato’s (they’re fully loaded hasbrowns , soo yummy). I love the food, the service is always wonderful, and I love how charming the inside is (even if it is a little crammed , it feels cozy!) . Just a heads up, they are cash only so you might want to hit up an ATM before you arrive 🙂
