Yoooooooooo!!! No Joke, just had the best Chicken Sandwich I’ve ever had in my life!!! 6-8 oz chicken breast cooked crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle, was topped with a white cheese, avocado and 2 Strips of delicious Bacon on a Buttered Brioche Bun!!! It was Bomb. Period. Don’t let the strip mall fool you, inside is a clean sports ambiance with many T.V.’s and absolutely amazing food!!! Thanks guys Keep up the great work!!!

Great atmosphere, amazing service an overall hidden jewel in the Northshore. Our waitress made sure my party was well taken care of. I had the the Ribs which were out of this world! This was my third time at this location and the manager actually remembered me from the last time I was there. I know with the pandemic all local eateries are struggling, so I am making it a point to make sure I do my share to support the establishments that are doing what they can to make us feel secure and normal during these abnormal times! Thanks for the 1st class treatment- I’ll be back!

This is the NEW Players Grill! The owners unluckily bought this restaurant right before Covid struck, remodeled the entire place which is clean as a whistle, and fought the eat home necessity during Covid to make a success. Peter and Julie are genuinely lovely, very determined hard-working people who have increased their crowd slowly but surely. Initially they didn’t have much help other than themselves, and now they have a terrific bartender and wait staff. The owners serve quality food and do not skimp on portions. They have brought back the old bagel chips which are addicting. We try to support them often, as they deserve to be patronized. I am pretty fussy when it comes to food and have never had a bad meal here. It is light enough, not crazy-crowded so you’re sitting in the person’s lap at the next table, the tables are well-spaced, you can actually talk to the people at your table, and every server is customer-oriented. Their poppy seed house dressing is good enough to drink. The fried shrimp are big, crispy, and meaty, the salads large and interesting/delicious, pistachio-crusted salmon very good, Chato’s chicken my favorite, and on and on. I have no idea what the complainers are talking about – we eat there every week and their complaints are unfounded, not that every restaurant doesn’t have a bad night. Players is the new guy in town and the community should give them try! Our daughter from LA loved it – talk about fussy – she’s it! They need to advertise, put a candle or flowers on each table, and offer special food/liquor deals at the bar. Spread the word….this place is a gem! They take reservations and the line should be out the door! Run, don’t walk!

Players Grill is our absolute favorite! The food is delicious and the menu is so varied, too. The new owners, Julie and Peter, are amazing people. They even introduced my favorite entree, Chicken Francese, upon my request. I tell all my friends and family to go there. It’s the best!

Under new management I can only speak highly of this resturant. The servers were great. They were so kind and pleasant. The food was great and full of flavor. I’m excited to see how this long family owned resturant will continue to grow and continue to impress me.

This place is not only an over-priced dump they are rude, disrespectful and cheap. Their run-of-the-mill burger and dry salmon dunked in $2 BBQ sauce is a rip-off at best. AND, we went to send our family member to pick up a to-go order during our son’s baseball game, they refused to give us napkins, silverware or ice for their warm drinks. When asked for ice they gave us a plastic soup container, not cups like most people drink from. Oh, and they only gave us one container of ice for three drinks. When we called to ask why we didn’t have utensils or napkins they said they don’t put them in unless requested. Well, we got our food at the baseball field at 8pm and there was no way to eat the food! How about asking the customer? Or, how about just including these essentials. Thank goodness for this sweet boy at the park that rode his bike home to get us napkins and forks to eat our food. So, disrespectful, cheap, rude and just plain stupid. They disgraced an insitution in the northshore. And, sadly to say I will never step foot in this dump.

With another adult, my 10-year old and I visited Player’s Grill about one month ago. The staff was pleasant, I did not experience any negative interactions as other reviews have noted. However, it was not a great experience. We were looking for a local pub-type grill with burgers and appetizers. This is NOT that type of restaurant, though, it is not entirely clear what the theme should be. Like is it a swanky “players” overpriced club with linen table cloths, stiff chairs, quiet dining hall…? Or, is this a neighborhood haunt with paper napkins and pub-fare like mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers? All are true. The pricing is illogical; for example, a Cobb Salad is $18, but the Beef Tenderloin is $33. A basic sandwich will run you around $20, which doesn’t strike me as a typical bar/grill. There were really no “standard” sit-down reasonably priced options (e.g., $10-15 burger). The menu is all-over the place with apps like popcorn shrimp and wings, sides like sautéed spinach and steamed carrots, and entrees like Ribs, Eggplant Parmesan, and Jambalaya. We ordered the potato skins app, which were not good overcooked/stale potatoes. Both adults had sandwiches (grilled chicken and bacon cheeseburger), which were good but not incredible or worth $20. The child had the mac n’ cheese and liked it. The environment and menu offerings combined miss the mark for me. The menu and restaurant could benefit from focus– pick a theme Italian (e.g., chick parmesan and Italian susage), Grill (e.g., steaks and ribs), Pub (apps and burgers) and pare down to put energy into the quality of what’s available.

Jerry knows good food! Players Grill has the best food (I would know, I’ve tried almost everything on the menu). This place is super underrated but is a perfect spot for the whole family! The menu is fun and creative, with some dishes named after well-known members of the players family. The venue is small, but cozy. Most entrees come with a soup, salad or coleslaw and a choice of potato or veggie. Did I mention this delicious food comes in ginormous portions?! Worth the price and definitely worth giving it a try. Personal faves are the Epic Kale Salad and the Sam’s deluxe chicken Sandwich. Great homemade bbq sauce recipe too!

Quick lunch but not sacrificing quality, pleasantly surprised with two dishes I’ve had here, one of which was a salad that was really really good for the price. Super friendly staff, but you should try to avoid the washroom if at all possible. Smells like an outhouse in the men’s.

Food is mediocre at best. Salty, huge portions. Had a shrimp and rice dish that was supposed to be sweet and spicy.. it was mostly walnuts, no spice at all, and the rice was dry and salty.
