This is a great Cajun themed restaurant off of Broad street. The atmosphere and music can have you feeling like you are in the French Quarter of Nawlins, but you are still in Columbia. I read several reviews of the food and I can say they were very accurate. The choices are varied and are authentically made. I couldn’t decide on what I wanted from the menu so I asked if I could order a bowl of gumbo from the appetizer menu and add a side of catfish and they said no problem. The waitress was knowledgeable of the menu and was very friendly. This was my first time eating here but it will not be my last.

We went there on the restaurants 1 year anniversary celebration. We sat at the bar because they had a full house. It is a small, quaint place but worth it to go. The food and drinks were A1. Authentic Louisiana food. We had boudin balls, shrimp platter, Mardi Gras pasta, and beignets. The bartenders and owner were so personable. Staff seem like family. The atmosphere is welcoming and they have live music. I loved it.

I enjoyed an awesome dinner while listening to some New Orleans style music. It was a nice, quaint restaurant with great menu options. The food was so delicious that I had to get an order to go. My server was very nice but I can tell he was in training. Overall, it was a great dining experience and I can’t wait to come back with family and friends.

self-motivated highly anticipated
We tried several dishes and they were delicious. The lamb chops were tender and delicious with ragout, the bidtrraux burger with shrimp was driving my tastebuds crazy!! The salmon dish was amazing with the grits and the sauce hmmn hmm, best meals we ever ate.

The atmosphere was VERY much HIGH vibrational from the moment we walked in!! The service was amazing from start to finish!!! I have NEVER experienced such amazing service from a black owned business and I have to say I was impressed but I was PROUD! 2 addition to the service and atmosphere, the food was delicious!! The chef cooked with love and you could taste it!! The presentation was A+ and we had a chance to speak with the owner as well!! This was definitely a hidden gem in Columbia but I am going to do my best to make sure that it’s “not so hidden” after today!! Definitely a 10/10!!

My friend and I stopped in today for a late lunch, and it was AMAZING! I’ve been frustrated with restaurants lately as the food is often nothing special and I feel like I could have made it easier and cheaper at home. The Bistreaux was delicious. I chose the fried catfish and fries which was incredible. The fish was fried perfectly with cornbread coating and the fries were thinly sliced and crisp. The slaw was a coarsely grated cabbage with a perfect dressing. My friend was quite pleased with her catfish étouffe. (She specifically requested to have the catfish on the side.) Our service was personable and kind. We look forward to returning.

I decided to come here for lunch because one of my friends recommended it and it did not disappoint. It is located in a strip mall but the owners have done a great job making the inside look anything but. The prices are very fair and affordable and the presentation of the food is amazing. We started with the fried green tomatoes and then I had the red beans and rice and my friend got the shrimp po boy. I hope this place stays busy as they should!
