New in town and happened upon this classic old diner. The place was hoping. Service was prompt. menu looked good with all the things she would expect in a diner. They did have a couple of steak and egg breakfast is which were very reasonably priced. I didn’t get a chance to see if they had desserts. If they had better coffee and apple pie, I would’ve given us a five star rating.

The decor is old style dinner (60s-70s), very well maintained and comfortable. Very nostalgic for me. In the early 70s, working my way through college, there was a Norm’s just across Hawthorne Blvd from May Company. I ate there quite often. The service here was excellent and the food was good. Just what you’d expect in a dinner.

This Norm’s is at the corner of Main and 17th. There are a fair number of homeless and mentally disturbed people walking nearby. One actually entered the restaurant and was asking for money from the people in the booth next to me. Putting that all aside, my meal was awesome and our server was awesome! I think it would be better to come during the day instead of late in the evening. I would still recommend this Norm’s, just don’t come after 9:00 PM.

This Norm’s reminds me of another Norm’s I went a lot to during my childhood. It felt very “home-y”…Rafael, was such a pleasure to have as our server and really brought that old school diner vibe that I grew up. I could tell it’s one of those where people come back over and over again, probably to the point that people know your name. Definitely did not feel like other Norm’s I’ve been to. Highly recommend. Oh and food hit the spot, as usual!

Showed up on Saturday around noon with a group of 13. The host and manager were very accomodating despite the large group size, and we were seated near each other (between 3 tables) after a short wait. We had a wheelchair and a child in the party and they still managed to make it work. The waiter was friendly and came by several times to make sure everything we needed was taken care of. The service was exceptional, and the food was delicious. Thanks for a great meal and good service.

Such a solid choice for a late-night dinner! Food is delicious. Place is clean and comfortable and the service is fast. Prices are also very reasonable. Where else could you go to get waffles at 3am? Check out this place immediately if you haven’t already!
