A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

If you are ever in the Sanford area looking for some good eats I would highly recommend Captain D’s. I have eaten here many times and I have not yet been disappointed. My food is always fresh, great tasting, and good portion sizes. The hush puppies here are so good (crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and great flavor). I tried the crab cakes here for the first time and I really enjoyed them. The battered fish is my favorite. It’s crispy, light, and airy on the outside and great tasting fish on the inside. The chicken tenders are phenomenal here as well.

Clerks never have eye contact..always low trash gabbing among themselves..have to wait and beg for drink refills..tables never cleaned..senior specials hardly mentioned.. water in parking lot even in drought? One clerk brought food to us..she was a different race…hmmm?

Went on drive through yesterday (6/23/23) around 8pm. After the order and while at the window for payment and pickup, the drive through employee seemed very busy with a personal side conversation with possibly a co-worker. I tried to take the attention of the drive through staff and requested some tartar and ranch sauce. The staff did not answer anything, kind of ignored me as a customer and proceeded with her conversation with the possible co-worker. When received the order, I asked the staff are the tartar and ranch there and she stated those are in the bag. When we came home, there was not a single tartar or a ranch sauce. This kind of service from a drive through staff is not appreciated. The taste of the food was good.

Went to the drive thru with my husband today 7/23/23 at 7:17 pm and was “assisted” by the person name “Aaliyah” at Captain D’s store #3398 in Sanford. We asked if we can add a sandwich to our order, we understand that if there’s a line or if they’re busy they cant do that however, that was not the case there’s no one behind us so we circle back, order the sandwich, even heard them laughing like its a joke and pulled right back to the window. They didnt even acknowledge us or speak to us for the entire transaction. Very rude, if I could give a 0 to this review I would. I hope management will address these concern. Very disappointing!

This is the second time when after spending $40 worth of food , they were too stingy to give us sauces. They have -0 customer service . Never greet when getting food and alway talking to others while handing out the food (drive thru). First time I spent $40 and asked for sauce . The lady said yes it is in the bag. Came home and there was literally No sauce whatsoever. Today was second time around 1:30pm (SANFORD ) I asked for 6 sauces since I ordered 6 sandwiches. She put only 3 . Cashiers saving sauce like it comes out of their pockets. All the people that works there (drive thru) are Worse of a kind.

I was in Sanford on Business, so I decided to Stop and have Dinner. The Service was Outstanding!! The Food was Properly Cooked, The Restaurant was Very Clean, The Pricing is Fair for the Portions.. I am very very saddened as a Manager by what I experienced today. You’re guest service cashier Breanna what an amazing and adorable person. I could tell she was new but she gave amazing service with all of the knowledge that she has been given. Her manager Tanya Church was no where to be found for any help to the poor young lady. When Breanna was able to contact Mrs. Church she seemed very displeased with being bothered. One, as a guest I was shocked with the energy but I can handle that. Two, It was poor Breanna who seems new and really just want to help the guest but is not given any help or assistance by her manager Mrs. Church! Wow! I had to explain to the poor young lady that this is NOT how managers train their employees. I told Breanna that she should ask all questions she can to be great at her job even if Mrs. Church is in a bad mood from work, home, really who knows! You can see that Breanna really want to know what she is doing and be great at it. Since her manager Mrs. Church does not seem to feel training employees properly is important to the company. Great job Breanna! keep going young lady you are a “STAR”. Someone will teach you want you need. Even if Mrs. Church don’t feel like doing it today!

Good seafood place for fast drive through. Menu is so beautiful so decided to come by. Got the fish and shrimp meal coming with 2 side. Its not too crazy delicious but its super hot and fresh when u just get it. Order the fries with corn hope next time they can check the order give me right side plz.All in all its good have to eat it when it’s fresh. The leftover is not a good idea when its cold. Not crazy flavorful like dining in restaurant cuz this it mostly fried food.

Food is always delicious and fresh, portions are decent and will fill you up, I love the battered fish, plus menu has so many options to chose from and everything is actually really good, Captain D’s is great confort food. They also have plates wich reduces waste, gotta love a green restaurant
