First time to this old Florida theme restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch with the ability to cook pancakes on your table. My friend rated the shrimp & grits as a 3, although she said the shrimp were great. The NC pulled pork Ruben might be one of the tastiest sandwiches I’ve ever eaten, so I gave it a 5. I was disappointed in the fried green tomatoes…the breading dominates the dish…not a fan.

Backwater is a really fun place! The food is pretty good but we really go for the pancake art. They tend to be busy so you have to have patiences but that is what you expect with a popular restarunt. Overall it’s a great place and we go when we want to have fun family time.

Came to Backwater for breakfast around 9:00ish today. The wait for non griddle was 0 when we arrived, but quickly changed to 15 and then 25 minutes. We only waited maybe 10 minutes before being seated. I ordered the penny stack with a side of home fries. The bacon was nice and thick, but the pancakes seemed a bit dry for my liking. The eggs seemed over cooked as they were brown on the bottom but it was fine. My gf ordered the penny stack with the peaches and cream pancakes, along with sunny side up eggs, sausage and loaded grits. I ordered coffee to drink. Overall it was okay, no complaints and the service was good.
