One of the best places for fish tacos in the Bay area. I visited Sancho’s with a friend two years ago and was an instant fan of their fish tacos. Please keep in mind that this place is cash only.

Aphids/ bugs in the salad! Ate here tonight and got a sope, you could taste the oil they fried it on and it overall was not yummy. But then I saw something crawling..then two things crawling, then a third! There were three bugs /aphids in the salad on top. I took it to the front counter and pointed them out and the cashier gave me my money back. Then another guy came from the kitchen and tried to convince me that within a couple minutes of my food coming out that three bugs landed on it from outside. I know what aphids look like because I’ve had many plants. I said there’s no way and they aren’t flying away and waved my hands over it to prove my point than they were chowing/living on the salad and didn’t just land from outside. The cashier told the guy yea I saw them in the salad we need to check the salad…they needed to check the salad before serving it. It isn’t uncommon to get aphids in commercially bought salad, but just gross to serve it to customers and rude to try to convince me they’re just from outside instead of owning it and reassuring the customers they’ll do better. We won’t be going back here.

I live nearby and used to get burritos here often, but stopped after the nth time my burrito composition was awful. Practically every burrito I’ve gotten here has all of the sour cream in one bite, all the rice in another, etc. Tasty food otherwise, but the structure spoils it for me.

Good food at the right price, great service! Indoor and outdoor dining. A real go-to place. Consistently, they hit the mark every time. I’ve been going here for years now and I’ve always been happy with my meal.

Food gets 5 stars, but the fact they don’t take credit cards gets a minus 1 star. Even becomes annoying to hear over and over each time someone walks up. Al pastor, carne asada and their fish tacos are all great. Many salsas to choose from as well, but chips will cost you $2.

I really like Sancho’s! The burritos are great. Tacos are great if you go with specialty ones, regular ones are ok. The salsas are fantastic, chips are great! The location and atmosphere are great! Service is always on point and friendly staff. Easy to order ahead and to-go. If i could change anything I would love to be able to pay with the card. But, that won’t stop be going here and getting my favorite, fish tacos! They are so good!

Fantastic food messed up by the service. Things happen, especially during busy times which we happened to be part of but here my impression was that not listening well is made to be my fault. Price was fine but one plate was missing. When trying to tell that something was not correct with our order it was hard getting attention. Beside of that the food was fantastic, however with the overall experience we couldn’t enjoy it as much.

Fish tacos 5 stars. Nachos 2 stars, very soupy. Sancho’s is a simple neighbor hood spot, counter service, cash only, etc. The food is good and I’m always happy to go here although it isn’t a spot I would go out of my way for. Lots of outdoor tables and a good local quiet atmosphere.

The surf n turf burrito was at least twice the size of my entire hand. It is the hugest burrito I’ve ever had — it was two or three meals of food and I was thrilled. Unfortunately they didn’t put in much lettuce when I asked for it to have lettuce, so next time I’ll just emphasize my request. But it’s so delicious and they were generous with the amount of protein.
