I decided to embark on a solo adventure on a scorching day, treating myself to some indulgence. My plan was to dine alone and envision myself strolling down a magical path, meandering through towering trees and sparkling lights. Although it was just the path leading to St. Edward Park, it felt like a whole new realm.

Went here for the first time as a day trip. We did not stay at the hotel, but had lunch at the restaurant. Beautiful building with cool history, but overall it was kinda boring. We were the only people eating in the restaurant. The bar was also deserted. Took about 15 min to explore the place, and unless you want to hike in the woods, not much else tovsee/do.

Turning off of Juanita Drive, the lights and sounds of the suburbs slip away and you are transported through space and time as the woods envelop you. Drive to the clearing and arrive at The Lodge’s stately circular drive. Opt for valet if for no other reason than to check out the beautifully restored antique autos that help set the scene.

Lovely brunch. The space is beautiful, service was good (they were very prompt on water refills), and the food was good. I wouldn’t say it blew us away, but it was all very good and I would still recommend eating here. My partner got the burger and fries and while the burger was good, he said the fries were amazing. My congee was also very yummy. Ask to omit the fresh chilies if you can’t handle spice, but I loved them. I didn’t love my cocktail (pine frost fizz) and ginger latte, but I was taking a bit of a chance on the flavors to be fair. Cocktail cost almost as much as my meal, so I think the price would’ve been decent until I added that on. I thought the price for each entree was reasonable. Nice to be able to go for a walk in the park before or after the meal, and explore the grounds and artwork displays.

Fun new restaurant 30+ my minutes drive north of Bellevue! Creative wine list, small focused menu with local ingredients.

A beautiful restaurant located on the ground floor of the hotel. There is a patio where you can eat outside and enjoy the view as well. A perfect spot to hit up after strolling around the St. Edwards state park. There is a bar right outside the restaurant where you can also grab drinks.

Very chic interior with a great location, and pretty good food. Multiple of my party ordered the halibut- I ordered the salmon, my partner had the pasta, and another had the steak. The fish was pretty so so, halibut a bit too firm, under seasoned. The sides were fairly unique and featured nasturtium pretty heavily. The chips and dip was a delicious snack, crispy tasty chips and creamy dip. The bread was also super delicious and freshly baked- with butter at the perfect temp for spreading. I would come back, but would likely avoid the mains.

When I arrived, it took a while to have me seated. Then the food took very long to arrive and was burnt. I ordered three brunch, Wagyu burgers, and the fries were very hard and over fried, but the restaurant is elegant.

I wanted to give a higher review so I’m going to go back for dinner and see what their meal options are all about. We went for brunch. The ambiance is amazing in their building. It was so festive in there with all their Christmas decorations and with all the windows that brought in all the natural light. I loved it! We walked around the building after breakfast so I highly recommend to do this. A lot of history to take in. Ok, let’s talk about the food. The service was great and nothing to complain about. The Mimosa was very good, and the juice tasted delightful with the champagne. Spot on there! The brunch options weren’t my favorite so I decide to branch out and try something completely different. I opted for the Chinese style congee, which had tofu and chicken in it. There was literally two mini pieces of chicken. The flavor was bluh but I didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t impressed at all so this is why I need to go back for dinner. I’ve heard good things about their dinner so we shall see. My friend got the skillet scramble and she said it was good.

I really wanted to love this restaurant, and not because it’s one of the few dining options around the Lodge. My husband and I had breakfast and dinner here while staying at the lodge for a few days. I’d say the breakfast was a much better deal for the price. The food was lovely, the lattes were delicious and reasonably priced, and the service was good. Our dinner was much more disappointing. For damn near $100 a person (1 drink, a side & entree), I expect more from a server than mumbling at us and nearly throwing our food at us before turning away. It seems service is a common problem for this establishment, which is a shame, because the property is absolutely gorgeous. The server we had really killed the ambiance on what was supposed to be a romantic getaway. It also didn’t seem like it was just our server. Everyone there seemed miserable, which is particularly telling of management’s style. I also didn’t appreciate being seated near what seemed to be a Lodge business dinner, and overhearing what I assume was a manager discussing the costs of maintaining the Lodge and how they were barely breaking even. He made it seem like the costs of things were artificially inflated, especially in light of our disappointing dinner.
