What a great and real experience. Grab a drink, find a seat and yell what you want. Ribs and rib tip dinner was spot on. Delicious and plentiful. Liked the cooked whole red potatoes on the side. Very unique experience. We were wanting some BBQ and this place was just down the road. Soon as I walked in I was greeted by the owner “Woody” from back in the kitchen. Asked me want I wanted and I yelled out what I needed. He said “You got it” and I took a seat and began soaking it all in. The whole time he cooked he interacted with all his customers in the dining room. Once my order was ready, he yelled for me and I went up to the counter to pick it up and pay. This place reminded me what it was like to walk into grandma and grandpa’s kitchen and I loved every minute of it. The pulled pork sandwiches were very good and hit the spot. We are definitely adding this to our “must stop here” places while in the area visiting.

We visited today for the first time after driving past this place my whole life. I’m so glad we stopped in! The food was great and the owner was such a character. Very nice, with a “rough, old-school Chicago uncle” kind of vibe. The service was unbelievably fast. It’s very laid back, sort of like you are just stopping by his house for dinner. Large servings, but if you have room left at the end, get the hot apple pie!

This is a truly unique small town gem. The food is amazing. But I’ll warn you if your looking for fancy, upscale dining this is not that place. This is good old fashioned southern roadside barbecue with no frills and no fuss. You get your own drinks, bus your own table and pick up your order at the counter. Did I mention the food is amazing! Indoor and outdoor dining. CASH ONLY. Simple menu with all your favorites and so much food you will want to but may not be able to eat it all.

Small local business but very unique place. We are visiting Sawyer a lot but that was first time dinning here and we are happy that we did because the Tips of the ribs was amazing and the pork barbeque also. Very tasty,juicy and finger liking delicious. Thanks to the owner who put a lot of heart and effort into to his work. Support the small local business and try the food they are prepared. Btw the owner is very friendly to.

My husband and I just finished eating at Woody’s and the whole experience was 10 out of 10. The food was absolutely delishes. The smoked BBQ chicken and ribs where fantastic. The potatoe was cooked perfectly with the right amount of sour cream. The beans where full of flavor and I typically don’t like coleslaw but tried it and ended up eating the whole portion. I could eat a container full as a snack. The butter bun was crisp but still chewy and the bread pudding..oh. so. good! The owner was extremely welcoming and had a great sense of humor. The environment was relaxed and just what we needed on our wedding anniversary trip. I only wish we could have a restaurant like this one by our home. If ever in the area again we will be stopping here and highly recommend others do the same! You’ll walk out with a full stomach and a smile on your face. Nothing beats those two things!

This place makes you feel like you’re a time traveler gone off course. It reminds me of an old Twilight Zone episode where the broken down space man ends up on the wrong planet and tries to figure out where everybody is.
