I asked for diet coke but got a water, after i got my food mind you. I asked for a hamburger no pink which i got, but i requested cheese to make it not so dry. Didnt even put a sauce or tomato on it. Just slapped the burger on a non burger roll and called it that. Everytime id look up, one of the workers would always be glancing over or just blatantly looking at me until i look up. Its not restaurant food, its home kitchen food, something i would make myself at home because im lazy after work and dont put effort into it because im just that hungry. I dont expect that when i go out and spend $11 on it. My brother got the ribs in his chicken. The other person we had dine with us had the same experience i had with my sandwich, but atleast they gave him tarter sauce for it. They also charged for water. So not only did i not get the drink i want, they charged me for water. Is it cause im white they treat us this bad? Everyone elses food looked beautiful and delicious, at first they gabe us the wrong order and it looked amazing, then ours came out and its like they didnt even want to try. Its honestly super disgusting. $33 without water, $40 with 2 WATER!

A local favorite in Dunellen. This Portuguese barbecue restaurant is a very simple establishment. A good portion of their business is takeout and they do have a single table with chairs if you like to eat your meal watching them cook your food. They do offer a back room dining area. Simple decor with music and a tv screen. Service staff was friendly and attentive. We elected the shrimp in garlic sauce, a medium salad, barbecue half chicken, pork ribs and beef short ribs. Our garlic shrimp had a darker sauce that I never seen before. Typically is yellow with a hint of red from the various ingredients. Since they do not serve bread you have to request it. You always need bread to dip in the garlic sauce. The salad and entree came halfway eating our appetizer. The salad was a hit. A medium was enough for 3 maybe 4. All very fresh with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers. Onions, olives and carrots. The main entree was huge and dressed with piri-piri. Although, I like it, best to ask if we wanted on the side. Chicken was very good. The pork ribs were not trimmed. The flap, bone, etc was still there. These were not St. Louis style. Some may like it. I prefer them neat, since the cartilage serves no purpose except for those individuals who like to bite into it. Otherwise they could have them trimmed and made into sparerib bites. Our beef was cooked to the requested medium rare. Unfortunately 2 of the 3 short ribs were very fatty. The dining area was not crowded but we and another couple were eating in this room. They do offer on site parking which helps. Also its byob. Prices were high but, competitive with similar restuarants. Give this place a try.

We found this place by accident. We were in the area looking for a used car…

The place is very nice and clean and the staff is very friendly, however I ordered the sausage appetizer with a side of rice and the sausage tasted like polish kielbasa,(one link by the way) and the rice tasted like it came out of a frozen package. The quality of the food and the small amount didn’t make me feel good about spending $21.00.. My coworkers ordered beef ribs that were as tough as leather and they spent $30.00.

Looking for a used car found us parked right next door so we decided to stop in for lunch. Some of the best Portuguese food I have ever had and that is including 30 years going to Newark. Wife and I split a sausage apply and a chicken, pork and beef Rib combo. All of the meats were cooked well, the beef ribs even being a nice medium. The flavor was bomb with a nice hint of heat on the chicken. Even the yellow rice which I am not a big fan of was perfectly cooked and delicious. Highly recommended

Outstandingly tasty! As much as for the red and pork meat eaters, as for the chicken and only seafood eaters, this place masters all these flavors. Not just deliciously fresh, but the amount, unbelievable! we don’t recall ever getting a lot of great food to take home and our dishes looked like we didn’t even touch them after we were done eating lol

Ordered a pork ribs and beef ribs combo platter to go to take to Flounders Brewing in Hillsborough (BTW great brewery). Glad they were open on July 4th and they were hustling while being super busy; nonetheless, order was ready on time and service was nice and friendly. The spare ribs were tender and tasty but the beef ribs were tasty and tough. A bit of tug-of-war with the beef ribs; needed to go lower & slower on those. Maybe because they were so busy on a holiday? Came with a lot of yellow rice that was well seasoned, fries, and two types of BBQ sauce. For the amount of ribs, better if three of those little sauce containers of each sauce had been included instead of only two; that’s an easy fix though.

So flavourful, so tasty, so gooooood. This is the best Portugese BBQ in the area for sure. Can’t wait to go back!

Place used to be a family favorite but their quality of food and service has gone down. The teenagers working at the counter take no accountability and don’t package the right food. I had to go back twice for a simple order!! Refuse to order from this place!!
