Been coming for years, best Chinese food around, don’t let the looks from outside fool you. Got the lunch special for under $9. Order on the phone and is ready in 10 minutes.

I mostly wanted to add a review to counteract so many recent negative reviews. Me and my family went in on Thanksgiving Day to get a non-traditional meal. The food was quick, hot, and delicious! We had the fried dumplings, curry chicken fried rice, combination soft noodles, walnut shrimp, and Peking Pork. I would recommend any of the dishes! It is certainly set against a rustic background with evidence of cracked tiles and storage of restaurant items such as plates, forks, etc in plain view but the service was friendly and the food was great!

If you like authentic mom and pop Chinese I highly suggest this place. I went for a late lunch with my cousin at 2, we ordered and the food came out in 10 minutes flat. We got fried dumplings, steamed dumplings and black bean noodles. It was all perfectly seasoned and very yummy. The owner was very nice and welcoming. The price was fair and I if I come back to Austin I will definitely be returning. Very small business, only 8ish tables, so don’t expect chain restaurants service, they are a small business. All great price for the portions.

I rarely leave reviews, but the food here is so good I wanted to make sure the negative take-out reviews didn’t drown out the positive reviews from the incredible food.

Rare find. So fresh and delicious!!! Authentic food, good service, clean, affordable. We had dumplings as our appetizer, pork chop in Peking sauce and BBQ pork soft noodles.

You guys when I tell you the portions were huge, we each had a meal for later from our entrees, & the food was delicious! The service was amazing! The only thing I wish I could help with would be sprucing the atmosphere up, but it kind of looked like they were possibly in the process of that too. Oh and the service was super fast! Our family will make the travel to come back!

Ordered take-out from here tonight. Most disappointing Chinese food I’ve eaten in Austin. Tried the Hunan Beef and Walnut Shrimp. Shrimp had this weird sauce on it that looked like mayonnaise. And the beef had what were clearly canned mushrooms, jalapeños (in a Chinese restaurant) and was almost too spicy to eat while also being flavorless. Will not be ordering from here again. Gave them two stars because the food was hot.

My partner and I tried Chen Z last night for dinner, and were glad we went! The Wonton soup, egg drop soup, and orange chicken were all on-point. I could have eaten the entire order of 12 steamed dumplings on my own, and the Mongolian beef was even better in the air frier for lunch today. It definitely satisfied my Chinese food cravings.

I really enjoyed the noodle soups and dumplings here at Chen Z. I got the Lamb Noodle Soup which had fresh noodles and perfectly cut chunks of lamb in a broth with bok choy. The broth was decent, sadly not too much flavor, but still excellent. The huge portion size made up for that. We also had the pan fried dumplings (12) and they were amazing! Cooked well and fried just right. Not to mention, the prices are great. They range from $8-10. I’m excited to see a really good Chinese restaurant in the area and can’t wait to return.

Few serval time, wrong order/missed. Recently ordered, I spend almost $100 meal for my family and I’m shock that sweet sour chicken without sweet sour sauce on them and other three large fried rice, suppose to get fried rice with beef, second fried rice with chicken and third is fried rice with pork. All of them only fried rice with few chicken tiny of pieces. I suspect they are lazy to cook and easy for them cook once at one time. Spoke them through phone and they won’t solve this problem and unfriendly. I will never order them never ever again.
