We tried this new restaurant for the first time this evening. Boy, were we glad we did. Everything from the food to the warmth of the staff was outstanding! The waiters are extremely friendly and helpful. The menu is a blend of several types of Hispanic ethnic dishes. From Cuban, Puerto Rican, Peruvian, Colombian, Mexican and more. We are so happy that they opened this restaurant nearby. If you like Latin food, you must visit this place.

“La Casona” (a large house or a mansion in Spanish) took up the place of the Hamilton veteran restaurant “Palermo.” It’s situated on Klockner Rd, not far from the intersection with East State Street (Hamilton Building Supply) and is accessed via Klockner or neighborhood streets.

La Casona Restaurante is the real deal! Their mofongo pernil is delicious and so flavorful! The arepas were amazing! The empanadas Columbianas were the perfect appetizer, so crunchy! And the dessert is ALL homemade! You must try their tres leche and their amazing passion fruit cheesecake. RUN, don’t walk to try the amazing food this place has to offer. Oh and the cleanliness of ambiance is a huge plus too. Next time we will be tasting some drinks!

Food and beverage were delicious. We had the Pallillos as an appetizer, and for our main entrees the Shrimp Mofongo and Arroz con Pollo. The quality of the food was outstanding. Drinks were delicious and flavorful, we had a Pineapple Mojito and a Coconut Mojito. Because of the high ceilings and tile floors, it was very loud. We will definitely return!

Last night,Friday 8/11, was our first visit to La Casona. We live only a few blocks up Klockner towards Nottingham Way. We have been waiting anxiously for you to open. The only building sat empty for so long and we were so happy to see the changes being made.
