I enjoyed this restaurant recently. It certainly offered that down home cookin with complimentary service. The salad bar, although small was packed with all the good stuff.

Wonderful chicken fried steak

Had the small portion fried fish. It came with fries & toast. It was all really good. I would have been happier if the fish also came with hushpuppies instead of toast. But all in all the meal was yummy & worth the price. I forgot you could get beans free with it until I was done. Oh well, next time!

Up front, I was born and raised in the Brownwood area. What I experienced wasn’t that hospitality from this area. And the food wasn’t up to par from what I could get from Section Hand, Humphrey Pete’s, or any number of the restaurants in this area.

Decent food way out in the country. Walls are decorated with guns and crosses, but everyone is welcomed. Has a salad bar and serves onion rings. Expect big portions.

Reminded me of my grandmother house while growing up. With and entrée you can help yourself to a bowl a fresh pinto beans and crackers. Lovely and friendly staff. Food was fresh, hot, and delicious. We ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with corn and taters. Delicious and fresh.
