If it’s got a cafeteria vibe, then it must be a Filipino place. I got a fish soup and Halo Halo, which I’m always excited to get. All of it turned out well. My quasi-vegan/pescatarian girlfriend couldn’t eat most of it however, so it was rice and fish for her. The prices were on the high side unfortunately, but I’m fine with that since Filipino food isn’t the most common.

I visited this place in Reno 3 consecutive days when we were there. Got great delicious lunch with my family. Wish to visit the place again one day. But Pete was very mind and accommodating owner. He was serving us during our visit. I was a beautiful experience!

Was visiting from out of town and the food is amazing. Some of the best Filipino food I’ve ever had. The owners were very polite and friendly too.

Very stingy. Look at the meat—there’s barely any. The woman acted like she doesn’t want to give out any meat. I also got some flavorless Lechon—$18 for a tiny package. I paid $31 for this combo and Lechon. What a ripoff. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

Great comfort food. I just wish they have halo-halo and more Pinoy food choices. Willing to wait if cook to order types.

I don’t usually write a review. The only time I write is really good or really bad. I’m not local of Reno so there’s something special in this place. Yes it’s Filipino foods. Not all Filipino foods are taste good. But this one you can say “wow”. Even my kids they love the pork barbecue. Right now they don’t offer dine in, just take out only. They have combo meal or you can order a la carte which 3 different sizes. The prices are very reasonable and very affordable. The owner Peter is very nice.

Enter Silong Kainang Pinoy and you are stepping back into past generations of traditional home-cooked meals prepared with not only experienced culinary training but also, and most importantly, humility and LOVE! It is an experience you need only try but once to become a regular. The lumpia, lechon, salted pork, and meunedo are sure to please however, the selections frequently change so there’s always the element of surprise.
