We had the pleasure to visit Sons of Smoke for the first time last Saturday for lunch. We had to see if all of the positive reviews were accurate. We had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed it immensely. Our waitress was Buffy and she was a pure delight. I had the 3 meat platter with brisket, pulled pork and smoked bologna. The sides were baked beans and the white cheddar mac & cheese. I’m really not a mac & cheese fan, but I will always order their version when I go back. My wife ordered the brisket nachos and really enjoyed them. Their servings were huge and we had more than enough to have a carry out and enjoy all of this again! I strongly encourage BBQ fans to try Sons of Smoke!!

Ribs and pulled pork were absolutely fantastic. Sides were incredible, and the staff were as sweet as they come. Some of the best BBQ in East TN. 100% recommend. Best Mac & Cheese!!! The only negative is they’re only open on the weekends!

Went for dinner tonight. My wife had the wing plate with baked potato and onion rings. I snuck one of the wings and we agreed they were great. Best wings we’ve had in a long time. I had 3 meat plate. Brisket, pork, ribs. I’m cautious about chopped brisket. Usually they try to hide a marginal brisket by chopping versus slicing. That was not the case. It was moist and flavorful. Ribs were good and chopped pork was a bit dry but the sauces solved that. Baked beans and mac and cheese were good. Service was great and food came out fast. Prices were the biggest surprise. This was the best meal for the money spent we’ve had in a long time. Check out this great family owned restaurant. You won’t regret it I promise.

This place is great! Great BBQ pork, brisket. The potato salad tastes JUST LIKE my momma made it! Hubby loved the max and cheese. Huge portions but not a huge price. I brought some home. You will not regret going. Your tummy and waistline might get mad at you, though!

This a nice, quiet family place down near the river. The food was fair-to-midland, but the service was fast and extremely friendly. The good – Ribs, potato salad, and fried green tomatoes (with lovely dipping sauce). Beans were nothing special. The pulled/shredded pork was extremely dry and chewy and the mac-n-cheese was terribly bland with overcooked, mushy pasta shells. I only finished my coleslaw. Prices were pretty high for the quantity of food, and if you are going to get it served on styrofoam plates, it should be awesome quality food.

We live locally and have our choice of local BBQ. This IS our “go to” place. They are friendly, the portions are good, service is fast & smiling, and it is GREAT ‘Q. My only complaint is that they are only open Thursday-Sunday as they work “regular” jobs as well. The place is a gem and deserves the high ratings it gets. Do your taste buds a favor and drive to Loudon.

Popped in yesterday (for the first time) for ribs to go. Unfortunately they were sold out (not surprised since it was only 30 minutes before they close). Ordered a pound of pulled pork, and man was it good! The hot sauce is a amazing….nice and sweet with a decent kick! The few employees that I interacted with (since mine was a to go order) were very friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to going back, and over time, trying everything on their menu, especially the ribs.

I’m probably going to get some grief from the pig union for this write-up. I had the ribs. They had more meat on them than any ribs I have previously had. Obviously all pigs are not equal regardless of the spin the Pig PR department puts on it. Clearly some pigs have ribs that are much more robust than others and Sons of Smoke have found them and are BBQing them to perfection. Nice bark on them and so very tender. I ordered a half rack as prior experience has taught me that the mini version (3-4) ribs leaves you wanting more. Not the case with these ribs. The great taste and personal gluttony permitted be to eat every bit of the rib meat.
