The first time I ordered it through door dash, it was great. However the second time was very disappointing and a waste of money. I was served poor quality uni. There was lemon slices all over my raw salmon bowl that ended up cooking the fish. Also, I was served tobiko instead of ikura. The bowls were nothing like the pictures on their website. If Umi didn’t have enough food to take the order, they should not have accepted it.

hand rolls were good but couldn’t tell if it was because everything was actually good quality or because i was starving after waiting for a solid hour to get my three hand rolls. there seemed to be only two people working so giving them the benefit of the doubt.

I ordered pickup at this place, never tried it before so it was my first time eating from here. I had two rolls and they’re a little small. It was okay tasting, not worth spending the money but If u like fresh sushi and would want to get a bigger sized rolls, u should go to sushi heroes. Always my go -to but today I decided different and I’m sticking to the other place instead.

I love sushi and finally found a hand roll place in San Jose, Uni hand roll bar. I got the combo, three hand rolls, seaweed salad and miso soup. For the rolls, I got Salmon Belly, lobster and blue crab. Since they were premium rolls, I had to pay a $1 extra for each roll. They were fresh seafood and very good. The portion was adequate, but not generous. The sides were good also, it’s just a little pricey.

I love coming to this place the hand rolls are always great but this time I was waiting for awhile. Saw staff talking and moving at a snails pace. Then when I came up to ask for my order the staff was passive aggressive and said they were calling my name but I never heard them. Just a bit upset since I’ve always been nice. Was going to drop a cash tip but neglected due to these reasons. Will come back but not if this continues.

While it does look like a hand roll, it tastes nothing like one with its dry texture and poorly wrap – not to mention the staff was kinda of rude. Will only eat again if I’m sick and the cure is a $5 hand roll. Even then I’d wait till the last day to do it.

Some of the best hand rolls and sushi rolls in downtown San Jose. Great place for grabbing food and hanging out. Get the salmon skin and Salman belly hand rolls. Scallop rolls are also very good.

Delightful little shop in the SOFA market for sorta-quick bites. Definitely pick up the combo and pick out three good rolls. Salmon is decent, though the truffle salmon skin is pretty tough. Baked salmon belly was nice and warm and filling.
