From the moment I walked in I felt transported back to a time of family restaurants from my home town. There aren’t a lot of tables and the atmosphere is a little lacking but the food more than makes up for that. I came specifically for the Friday night all-you-can-eat walleye which comes with 2 sides and rolls. The rolls and cole slaw were good but the french fries and walleye were fantastic! The walleye was lightly breaded and fried to perfection. My plate came loaded with 3 large filets of which I could only eat 2. I highly recommend Flora’s Family Restaurant for Friday night fish fry.

Friday night all you can eat fish for 10.99 is the best thing to get here. Their taco salad was a bit bland. Their burgers are hand pressed but they are a bit dry and not really seasoned. The restaurant looks like an old house but converted. The waitresses were both so so nice. We went around 445pm and it was already starting to get busy.

The busiest time is during Sunday lunch as the locals exit church. The number of seats is somewhat small, the menu is not cheap and the tables wobble. On to the positive aspects. The cook is comsistant and willing to accommodate requests, the food is delicious and comforting, the wait-staff is attentive and friendly, the atmosphere tends to be bright and cheery and noisy with friends chatting.

Good ol’ Flora’s Family Restaurant is a gem. While the breakfast menu is similar to those you’d find at any other breakfast place, the quality of service and the food is better than anywhere else. I’d suggest the chicken fried steak or the biscuits and gravy for breakfast. The restaurant isn’t the most decorated place in the world, but I also don’t go to restaurants to look at art, either.

First time visiting and will not return. Wife said her food was like Stouffer’s lasagna. My chicken strips were more like big nuggets than actual strips of chicken. I think they get the food from the Walmart frozen food section. Not at all what you expect from a small town family restaurant.

Country home cooking, but not at its best. Chicken fried steak seamed over cooked, and mashed potatoes were dry and lumpy. The cheesecake was not homemade and disappointing. Waitress was friendly and helpful though.

Good basic comfort food at fair prices. Every small community needs one or two like this restaurant. Excellent pie!

The deep-fried mushrooms were good. My ribeye steak was the toughest steak I have ever had and the hash browns weren’t browned at all.
