Heard about this spot, and I had to check it out. I have had beefs at many different restaurants throughout Chicago, California & Texas, and I must say this was one of the best. It is good size and the flavors were just right. You get fries with your sandwich, and the hot giardiniera was .

I checked this spot out with my daughter. At first, I was confused because Google kept taking me to a convenient store. So I called the business number, the owner answered and told me he is located inside of the store. I caught him as he was getting set up (I was early). He still cooked my order. I had chopped beef and polish sausage hot dog. It was delicious! It had onions, bell peppers, olives, cheese, and a whole lot of goodness. My daughter is a vegetarian. She had seasoned fries with a side of Chicago Mild sauce. I suggested he offer cheese fries for vegetarians. The only thing that I did not like was that my meal did not come with a drink. So I got a beverage from the store. I noticed that a lot of the beverages were expired. Plus, there wasn’t much of a variety. I suggest Core of Chicago offer drinks to his customers. This was a great experience. He has a variety of items on his menu. I shared my meal with two other people because it was a lot of food. Food is priced appropriately. I recommend this establishment. Enjoy!!

Chicago Girl here. Born and raised. Moved to Texas 12/ 2020. When you find a Chicago restaurant in a different city/state, you run to it (when you know you know). I ordered a Chicago Box, which included: fries, three wings, polish, gypo, beef, pizza puff, and hot dog (which I substituted for another puff). I sampled everything in my box, making sure not to get full off of one item. Everything was good. The mild sauce was real (when you know you know). I bought my friend girl some wings. Although I’ve taken her to Chicago twice, today was the first time she actually tasted mild sauce. For the record, she LOVED her food, too, even the sauce. If you’re wondering if you should eat here, yes. Run there! The restaurant is inside the convenient store named Mickey’s. I hope I was able to help.

Let me tell you how I have been deprived of GOOD food since moving to Texas! Texans don’t no flavor if it smacked them across their tastebuds. I was so happy I stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for lunch near the job! I rave so much about Italian beef sandwiches back home in Chicago that my coworkers have been dying to try them! I ordered 3 Italian beefs triple dipped with mozzarella cheese and hot peppers! Chef Edwina G. MADE IT PERFECT TO EACH BITE I TOOK! WHEN I TELL YOU MY COWORKERS DEVOURED THEM SANDWICHES FOR LUNCH I AM NOT LYING. They kept saying they need another one! As they smacked there lips together between each bite. I am so excited to try the rest of the menu if that sandwich taste that delicious then I no everything else will taste amazing too. If you from Chicago please go here and enjoy! The owner is a Southside Chi Vet himself he knows what he doing. Thank you for being so quick with the service. Thank you for preparing my orders to perfection. I will be back this weekend the family gone need to have this too I can’t deprive the crew!

Finally made it over to The Core last weekend and I’m glad I did! My Chicago Native Wife & Grandma said it tasted just like “Home”. Couldn’t make up my mind what to try first so we got rib tips, Italian Beef, and those delicious giant wings! All were excellent! Can’t wait to go back and get a “Gym Shoe” sandwhich! The owner is a great guy and hope to see his spot grow and prosper in the future!

This place is the real deal. Authentic Italian Beefs, pizza puffs, and Chicago style hot dogs. Originally I thought I was in the wrong location but this place is so new, it didn’t have the name on the front of the store. Don’t be mistaken though, you’re in the right place. I just wish they had a location closer to where I live in Frisco, but it’s worth the drive when I get an authentic craving.

If you need a Chicago food fix…don’t wait just GO and GO FAST! It’s the closest you’re gonna get without actually taking an expensive plane ride or 20 hour drive. Clean, courteous and cool as he!!. TC has daily specials but you can always order your favorites from Italian beefs too pizza puffs or ribtips. He even has Maxwell street goodies! Don’t sleep on this Fort Worth gem by way of Chi-town!

First impressions, hmmm am I in the right place. This is definitely a hole in the wall. Anyone from Chicago knows that the hole in the wall places have the best food and this one did not disappoint. I tried the rib tips, Italian beef and the chicken.. my favorite was probably the tips.

There is a little known secret spot called the core of Chicago. It’s on the corner of Richmond and hemphill.inside another business a corner store.there are also uhauls trucks in the parking lot. Now after digging through all that is a valuable treasure called core of Chicago. This the go to spot after leaving the club. They got mild sauce I put that on everything it hit different make you do the “perculator”. The core of Chicago great food even better prices. Go get some pizza puffs, Italian beef dipped with the peppers, and the classic yard bird fried hard with the mild sauce and two pieces of white bread and fries. Man the only thing they lacking is free can pop so they get 4 out 5 stars. Other then that I’m about to smash.

Just went for the first time and will absolutely be back! We got Italian Beef and a Pizza Puff, all perfectly done. The dough on the puff was golden brown and flaky, the filling had a ton of flavor. You can see the spices in the Italian Beef, the bread is soft on the inside with a great crust so it doesn’t fall apart when it’s dipped. Don’t miss out on the fries either, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Definitely some of the best Chicago food we’ve had.
