We simply had great meals. The scallops were particularly good. The brisket a little too fatty for my taste but some would enjoy. Our party of 7 had a great experience. Our server, Charles, was excellent. Friendly, efficient and attentive. We enjoyed meeting him.

Best restaurant on the island hands down. Went here for lunch and sat outside because it is more spacious. The inside dining room is a bit crowded. My server, Charles, was exceptional and recommended great drinks and desserts. My go-to bartender is Kristen, but she wasn’t there that day she makes fantastic drinks! The drinks were still good, however. I had the Mule. I decided to eat light, so I had the wedge salad. It’s my favorite salad on the menu always made right with the consistent memorable flavors. With this, I had the lobster hushpuppies. They were fantastic and even better with the aioli. For dessert, the poundcake was recommended which was a nice, light finish to the meal. It was simple and tasty. Overall wonderful place to dine if you’re on the island.

Food was slightly better than average but was expecting better. For being a BBQ place thought their ribs would have been better than they were. Had the pulled pork nachos which had great flavor, super spicy with the jalapeños, would recommend those on the side.

We have eaten here the last three times we’ve been to Kiawah. It has definitely gone down in quality. We had made reservations as we had 11. They put a new waitress with us, not smart! She couldn’t answer questions about the menu, we were mislead on a few of our choices. The worst was the dessert, a pound cake that looked awful and was literally frozen. When we told the waitress, she apologized, nothing more. The only reason I gave it a 3 star was because there is such a lack of places to eat on the island and unfortunately this falls as one of the better

Food quality has deteriorated over the last year. Had nachos which were basically a pile of chips with little toppings. Prices have gone up precipitously. Other food was kind of blah. Used to be one of our favorite restaurants on the island. Service by our waiter Paul was excellent, but that can’t overcome issues with the kitchen.

Food was pretty good but the meat portions were embarrassingly small. My wife and i normally don’t finish a platter at a bbq place but this was really tiny. It costs thousands to stay here at the Sanctuary and when we brought up the fact that the portions were a lot smaller than a normal barbecue restaurant, the manager, Sam argued with us. I immediately regretted bringing up the problem as it went completely sideways considering their reaction. But they give you maybe half of what you would get at Lewis or Home Team and its not as good as either. I hate to seem like an entitled sob but you’ve got to have a sense of presence and realize you’re not the manager of an Applebees in downtown St Louis. Overall, my niece explained to me I didnt need any more food and I was fine. She’s 7 so I guess I over-reacted.

We had two good meals during our stay. Great servers (Aaron tonight) delicious BBQ and unique quesadillas. Cost wise 2 of the more reasonable meals (nothing is cheap on Kiawah). Ignore the bad reviews and ask for pet friendly porch seating. Views are great.

Our server was very sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered split plates and they split it for us which was very thoughtful.

Service and atmosphere is good, but the food just isn’t great – and it’s expensive. The quality of the BBQ really can’t compare to other spots I’ve been to. The 30 dollar burger is really just a small patty melt – mediocre at best.

Drool. So so so good. We order the family style and then make sandwiches with left overs to enjoy by the beach the next day. I am obsessed with the lobster hush puppies!!
