Best restaurant in Islamorada, if your looking for a fancy date night or a place for celebration this is your spot! Incredible fish to choose from & the steak is out of this world. We started with the lion fish and it was incredible! Forget all of the other restaurants around town and put this at the top of the list!

Was just there celebrating our five year wedding anniversary and had the most amazing meal! The service, food, and dessert were all exceptional – HIGHLY recommend the Salted Caramel Cheesecake Brûlée!!

Fantastic all the way around. The bar tender is a doll. She was so patient and knowledgeable about the food and drink. We decided to eat at the bar for my bday dinner. Free dessert-I picked a delicious HUGE chocolate cake. Husband had nut encrusted hogfish. He loved it. I went vegan and it was fantastic. Good vibe at the bar. Filled with friendly locals. Small, intimate restaurant. Walkable from Cheeca lodge. Reservation

Our favorite place to splurge in the keys. We got the shrimp & conch fritter appetizer, seafood pasta, hogfish Juliette, and key lime pie. We’d give 10 stars if we could. All the food is incredibly fresh and comes out perfect. Seafood pasta had almost an entire lobster tail in it. Service was amazing! Food is super high quality for the price. Make sure to make a reservation.

Absolute freshest seafood meal we had while in Islamorada! My husband hates seafood, but took one for the team and he now has a whole new outlook. Our waitress did a great job of educating us about the menu and explained about hogfish, which is local to the area. My husband had escargot for an appetizer, then the hogfish ponchartrain as his meal. He ate every last bite and said Chef Michael’s changed his perspective about seafood. I ate the three fish trio of grouper ponchartrain + almond crushed hog fish with mango sauce + cobia with olive oil and herbs. We shared the key lime pie for the dessert win! We saved this restaurant for our last night at Islamorada because we knew it would be the best and it sure did send us back to Texas having an exceptional experience that we will not forget. I recommend making dinner reservations, which we did, so we were able to walk right in and be seated.

Sadly disappointing. I I try to never write negative reviews, but after my experience, this one deserves it. I went with two local people to experience, Chef Michael’s. We didn’t have a reservation, but we’re hopeful we could sit at the bar for drinks and appetizers. There were only two people in the restaurant when we arrived around 5:15pm. I understand being turned away for not having a reservation. However, only 2 patrons in the restaurant, open bar seats, & the next reservations weren’t until 6pm…but we weren’t welcome to sit and have a drink? The hosts & bartender were rude, pretentious, condescending & patronizing. After discussing and questioning why we couldn’t sit for a drink since the bar seats were not reserved until 6….they finally snidely said we could sit, but the damage was done, and we chose to go to a more welcoming place on the island. We will not go back.

Have had Chef Michael’s on the list for several years after reading lots of good things on a Boat Owner’s Fishing Forum. Also researched and saw lots of different reviews on google. May have been the best meal I’ve had in the Keys. There are several good places in the Keys and I’ve had several outstanding meals but this one is different. A little more upscale. A bit more expensive but the fish is fresh. The sides are basic and maybe a little bland but let the fish be the star. We had the Lion Fish. App and the fritters. Both were outstanding. I had the Hogfish Pontchartrain (outstanding). Wife had the twin lobster tails (great). Sis-in-law had Hogfish Juliette (great) and BIL had the African Pompano (great). Server was very attentive and helpful. Wasn’t too crowded on a Thursday night. Definitely a must for nice date night or special occasion.

After being a consistent customer to this restaurant for the past 3 years they are taking advantage of a modified reservation we made today and charge us $100 because they claim we did not show up. The manager who refused to give us her name was extremely rude and asked us to leave. This place take advantage of loyal customers and don’t care about any type of customer satisfaction. This is no way to treat a customer and that manager should not be handling customer relationship. In the long run they will loose out because we will never go back and will make sure that we spread the word on how they take advantage of customers.

The food is amazing! We had the shrimp and lobster ceviche, and escargot for appetizers. For main course fried lion fish and the fish trilogy. Dessert was creme brulee and salted caramel cheesecake. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The place has a great ambiance and service. Highly recommend this place!
