Service was very slow even though there were only 3 or 4 other customers when we ordered. As a mixed group of adults n kids we asked if they could do grilled cheese for the kids. The answer … no. My wife and daughter in law ordered salads both of which sat on the side while the other food was prepared. Neither of them looked appetising. My burger prefers as medium was definitely well done to cremated. Not worth a visit, though our server was very pleasant on her first day in the job.

My father and I come to this place all the time and we love it. It’s far enough down Thames street to be considered a “locals” place, and all of the staff know us by name, The owner is one of the nicest guys I’ve met in this town, and I love the atmosphere he has given the place. That being said, the food is awesome (I love the sweet buns) and I would highly recommend the Bison. Food is definitely worth the money, considering you can pay the upwards of 25$ for a Newport meal. Drinks can add up quickly, but with a liquor store right across the way who really cares anyways. Good job John!! We love your restaurant, and will definitely be coming back.

At the time we came, the restaurant was almost completely empty. The staff were not busy at all, and just were standing and doing small chores at best.

Save your money. I visited Willy’s with 4 friends and the food was tasteless, delivered to the table cold and undercooked. The quality of the food was very poor. The hamburgers are greasy and were gray in color. The hotdogs steamed and again tasteless. My friend had a fish special burger and it had a bone it. The fries are dried out. Even the water was out of the tap and tasted like bleach. The atmosphere is non existent and totally uncomfortable. Definitely not worth the money. It was 80.00’s for bad, greasy hotdogs, hamburgers and fries. With so many restaurants in Newport, walk right by and enjoy a meal, just not at Willy’s. Worst eating out experience from food quality, taste and atmosphere of my entire life. Wish there were negative stars.

Very Nice place for a family : great soup, crispy chicken and Very good french (like us !) fries. Hamburgers and hot dogs were excellent and the waitress and cooker were both very friendly. A very good place to go, much warmer than the old school restaurants on the seaside.

Fries are delicious especially with the cheese sauce. Burger was ok but unless you get toppings (onions, chili, egg, cheese sauce) you won’t taste much. Seemed a little small for the bun. Nice relaxed place but could use a little more work on the food.

We were the only one there, and the service was super slow! The cooks looked inexperienced and the burger bun was spongy and the burger was overcooked(asked for medium) the goat cheese was so bitter, and it belongs on a cracker instead. Wasn’t satisfied!

Had to call and order take out from another restaurant while still sitting at Willys because the food and service was so weak. With probably 100 places to get a decent and affordable burger/beer in Newport, a quick goggle search should yield you about 99 better options than Willys…

The staff was super friendly, food was good, but the menu want terribly creative. But they do make a good, juicy burger!

Innovative cooking in a unique location. Extends the restaurant district while pushing Newport dining in new directions. Everything was good.
