What can I say – it’s Waffle House. The food is fast and yummy, classic greasy spoon comfort food. The staff are friendly, sometimes a little overwhelmed to keep up with water fill up, coffee warm up, etc. but always pleasant.

I asked for ‘crispy’ bacon, and recieved nasty burnt under-cooked bacon. The rest of the meal was OK. But now I understand why the parking lot is empty most of the time. Enough said.

Came to waffle house at 1:30am and all the lights were on. Went to go pull the door and it was locked. Not a soul was inside. We waited around for a few more minutes and here comes the workers from across the parking lot. They explained they had an “emergency” but all 3 of them needed to go? And one came back on a bike and the other two were walking. They told us they could dine-in after telling me on the phone 30 minutes prior that they were doing take-out only. Now we are waiting outside in the cold because they locked the key inside. Great service. Only reason im still here is just to see this out because at those point i might as well

Waffle House is one of my favorite chains.. I often get 5 or 6 eggs over medium…always grits, bacon….any kind of toast (wheat or raisin). Often a couple tomato juices, coffee. 100% of the time the eggs are cooked absolutely perfect….perhaps there is a timer? I do not know. The bacon is superior to most (yes, the other favorite chain Cracker Barrel too has excellent bacon. It must not be an easy job but the cook/serverd are always pleasant and quick…right up to checkout. The juke box is high-tech…lots of selections..

I was absolutely horrified after I finished eating my meal I watched the guy cooking the food do his thing. He reached into the refrigerator and pulled out raw bacon and raw sausage and put them on the grill and then proceeded to touch pretty much every damn thing in that kitchen without changing gloves. Talk about cross-contamination. He is really fast at cooking but he definitely needs to be retrained on food safety and preparation. This is just absolutely disgusting and uncalled for. I ended up with diarrhea for the next 24 hours and I’m pretty sure it was because of this.
