I had a “beef” one and a veggie cheese one. Pasties. I specifically asked to make sure it was normal beef and not a weird cut like tongue or cheek. I was assured they used the best cuts of sirloin. So the veggies cheese one was good, but the “beef” one was absolutely not beef. It was pink and white, and tasted like liver or lamb or something. I couldn’t stop dry heaving over the smell alone. Other than that, great place.

Was a little more expensive than the other pasty shops but they use ground sirloin which made the pastie really juicy. You need a plate and fork for sure. A nice variety of pasties. Very clean. Mary was so sweet too.

I stopped in on the afternoon of 8/18/23. The place looks like a blast from the past. It’s ok if your a traveler and want to experience the more touristy type of pastie place. The pasties are $12-14 which is to expensive in my opinion for what you get. The meals do not include a soft drink and will cost you close to $3 for a pop. All in, you could be close to $17 for one meal. There are other locations in St. Ignace that have cheaper options that are just as good.

Delicious pasties and nice, creamy cole slaw. Excellent hospitality and customer service.

First time Pasters here. We tried the traditional beef and the beef stroganoff. Both were good although we liked the stroganoff better. These reminded us more of hash wrapped in pastry than a pot pie without the pot. Each came with slaw which was good but different from what we are used to. It had a creamier texture and tasted like it had a hint of horseradish. We liked it. The meal also came with a cookie. The cookies were great. Nice and chewy without being too sweet.

I misremembered what pasties tasted like and was pleasantly surprised how good they were! Hubby and I had the traditional beef pasties with gravy and wolfed them right down . Scrumptious! Why aren’t they served in the lower peninsula?! We’ll be back!

Always a good pasty from Mackinaw Pastie & Cookie Co. Of course, the original is the best! Either eat in or grab some to take home – they provide heating instructions, too. We did not get cookies, although they looked wonderful and we were tempted. Thank you!

Beef pasty was really good with gravy was really good. We also had a breakfast one and that one was really good too. They were all out of gourmet cookies so that was kind of a bummer it’s still worth a stop for the pasty.

Picked up awesome pasties on the way through town. Service was quick and friendly and gave excellent reccomendation for reheating them. Gravy was tasty and perfect addition to the meal.
