My daughter and I went to Gaetano’s on the spur of the moment. I picked her up from an event in Cambridge and she told me that she had a hankering for Italian food. We were originally going to go to a place in East Boston but since it was Sunday that place was closed. I called a friend of mine and asked for recommendation. He told me about Gaetano’s. I had never been there or had ever heard of it but I went on his recommendation. He was a 100% spot on. The food was excellent, the service was great, and we had a very enjoyable experience. We started with the calamari appetizer, which was wonderful. Lightly breaded and deep fried. My daughter had the four cheese ravioli in pink vodka sauce. I had the veal saltimboca. Both of our entrees were excellent. Full of flavor and truly satisfying. We finished with spumoni and canolli accompanied by cappuccino and coffee. All in all, it was an excellent meal.

My husband and I had dinner here with my son’s family here last night. We were quickly seated since we had reservations for 8 on a Thursday night which is typically crowded. We were greeted by our waitress, Cheryl, immediately after being seated. We ordered several apps for the table, entrees and dessert. The timing of each coarse was perfect; we had enough time between courses to eat and relax a bit. The restaurant was very busy. No complaints at all about the food. Our waitress Cheryl was excellent, as always. You can tell she truly enjoys her job just by the way she takes care of each and every table; we were treated like family. One small suggestion I’d like to make is that the dinnerware, utensils and glasses need to be checked before using which is easily remedied. Highly recommend to family and friends.

Great food, noisy/cramped atmosphere. Too many tables in a very small space. So noisy we couldnt talk across the table without shouting. Food is excellent, but not the best dining experience. Were placed in a table where we were constantly bumped by staff/other customers. Tried to eat as fast as possible to just get out of there.

Food was really good. My drink was fine. My daughter and my bestie, not so much. I took a sip of theirs, yuck! My daughter asked for a different drink. When we got the bill at the end, her drink was still on it. When we brought it to the server’s attention, she was making it seem like it was a bit of an issue to take it off. She has to find the manager and talk to them to void it. She made it seem like it was a process. When we put up a fuss, she walked away and was back in 2 minutes. We were thinking, it’s that hard but she came back instantly with it done? It seemed to us like she was hoping it would fly under the radar, and we wouldn’t notice. At least, that’s how it seemed.
