Update – Sadly disappointed with today’s visit. First off, their AC has been out for over a month. They have a wall unit installed instead of paying to fix the AC. It was extremely uncomfortable to feel sweat dripping down your back and off your face while trying to enjoy a meal. Next, the steaks now look like frozen diner breakfast steaks. The wine went from $3.50 to $5 per glass, but the menus don’t reflect that and even after raising this question to the waitress, she said “prices went up”. They still should honor the price on their menu if they chose not to bear the expense of printing up new ones. Oh and the wine was HOT, I know red wine is supposed to be served at room temperature, but it doesnt fly when the room temperature is 80+ degrees. The steamers were the size of dimes. We had been here 4 times in 2 weeks about a month ago and had nothing but praises about this place. Now, after today’s experience, we wont be returning. We were hopeful about being regulars, but I knew deep down inside, they would eventually start finding ways to cut corners. Its a shame because this place had such potential. Oh and the flies…I don’t even want to know about the kitchen and how many are back there! We were fighting them off at the table.

Great place! Exactly the type of establishment we needed in Sussex Co. Great family restaurant upstairs. Food was awesome! Very fresh. Staff was very attendant and friendly. The owner even stopped by our table to make sure everything was to our liking. Theres live music downstairs, and a bar, if you feel like partying after dinner. They even have a mechanical bull to ride, if your feeling like a cowboy. Just a great place. Can have dinner, go downstairs, and have a great time for the rest of the night.

Only reason giving one star, is that the food was good, but still Overly priced for up here. Took three hrs. to get it. Appetizer portions also measly for price. The owner has other establishments so no excuses for opening night bugs or whatnot. Has to separate upstairs dining area from downstairs club. How can you enjoy a family meal when you have rowdy drunk partiers constantly walking through dining area.Owner seems to care more about younger crowd in club than family atmosphere. Won’t be back. Taco of Town and Riviera Maya close enough for Mexican food. Close now so you don’t loose money.

Service was very good. Unfortunately on this night staff was required to wear ridiculous cowboy hats with blinking lights. Surprised no customer had a seizure. As we entered we were greeted by an ATM machine – restaurant does not accept credit cards. At my table 3 of 4 of us were not happy with the quality or taste of the food. Steak was supermarket quality and fajitas tasteless. Also no coffee or dessert. Will not go back.

Good tasting food & came out hot, but we were the only customers at the time. We both got the 2 for $14.95 combo (Chimichangas & enchiladas for me, Burritos & tacos for him). We got 1 average chimichanga, 1 small enchilada, 1 soft taco, & 1 average burrito. Kind of pricey for those portions in this area, but it came with about a 3/4 cup of rice & beans & it was filling enough for lunch. Sour cream came in a small lidded plastic condiment cup & I had expected a bit more served in a glass dish. Draft domestic beer was $5 a pint. I did expect that to be slightly cheaper at $4/$4.50 as well. Service was definately attentive & pleasant though & the nice atmosphere was worth the slightly higher cost. Credit machine line was down so we had to use the ATM, but they did refund the ATM fee, which was unexpected & nice of them. Haven’t tried anything else yet that would require more skill in the kitchen. I’ll update then, since we’ll definitely be back!

For a not very busy night, the service was poor. Had clams and lobster. Clams were good. Lobster was the worst I ever had. Tail was like chewing on rubber. Claws were dried out. Obviously, overcooked. Onion rings couldn’t have been greasier. They were soggy and dripping with grease. Wife had salmon and linguini. It was good. One thing that was annoying, was the little plastic serving cups for the butter and cocktail sauce. The average dinner was between 25 and 35 dollars. Little plastic serving cups are the last thing I would expect for the price. Can we at least fill them up more than 1/4 of the way? It was a whole lobster! Had one beer and switched to a coke after, because I was driving. Again, a plastic cup? Three out of five stars is being generous. Might give it another try, but not too soon.

Menu looked good but only had 2 steaks on the menu had no other steaks. For a place that is supposed to be about steaks, not very pleasing. Ordered 2 burritos were ok, were lukewarm . Might give it a second chance because the menu did look good, if they have the food that’s supposed to be on the menu and if it’s not closed down.

f you are looking for a fun night out Shooters Tex Mex Steakhouse is the place to go. A nice country western theme with GREAT food and friendly staff. The proprietors go out of their way to make sure everything is in order to ensure your experience is a memorable one. It’s hard not to love the menu with lobsters for only $17.00 along with other great entrees at very fair prices. Drinks are also very reasonably priced. With great music and other forms of entertainment I rate Shooters a five star establishment. Just what Sussex County needed! See you there.

Shooters Tex Mex in Wantage. The first photo of the burnt appetizer shows what was sent out by the cook, then overlooked and ignored by our waitress. The second photo is the greasy uncooked blob that was given to us after asking for a replacement. The steak was way overdone and chewy. I did not eat more than a couple bites of mine, our dog Aussie enjoyed it though. The foil in the middle of the potato was not attached to the foil around the potato. It was apparently part of the fun? If you don’t mind a $10 glass of sangria clearly poured from a bottle with a few tiny chopped up pieces of red delicious apple, rubber steak, corn as the ONLY side, mushy salsa from a very cheap brand then you’ll be fine eating here. There was no apology, only a demeanor of somehow their mistake was our fault. I think the young party crowd will be Shooters only hope to survive. For a family dinner Sorry, this review won’t allow me to add photos.
