Wanting to present a place with purpose, serving food and drink that’s fresh, picked up directly from the local farm, and prepared in front of the customer, the idea was born. Everything would be sourced local with the menu highlighting the Illinois farmer and the drinks sourced Midwest.
The building itself needed to have meaning. Something that served its community for decades, something with good bones. For our purpose was to be members of the community, be woven into its fabric, presenting quality and uniqueness in a familiar, comfortable atmosphere. We found 13 Dozen Doughnuts in Peru, directly across from Westclox, which was ready for a makeover. After a year of repurposing, reusing as much as we could the building was ready.

This dining experience was a delight. Everything was fresh, flavorful and absolutely delicious. Every meal served to our party of 8, was colorful and appealing. The dessert of chocolate brandy peanut pie with fresh whip cream was… WOW! So good! The service was excellent. I highly recommend eating here on any occasion.

Great spot for fresh delicious food!! We were just so tickled to find this place. The owner was outside with a pup so we stopped and chatted about what was good. We had the pork belly on his recommendation and the market salad bc I love a good salad. The portions are PERFECT. If you need an oversized 2,000 calorie commercial style meal with a Pabts blue ribbon this isn’t your place. If you want to eat the freshest local food from farms in the area, a craft beer and a friendly atmosphere, this is your place. The owner came and chatted with us after we ate and we snapped some pictures.. bc why not. We’d stop again. Their menu is ever changing too! Mmmmm. If we weren’t driving we’d have def tried some craft beer or a cocktail.

Very impressed! Stopped in here for the first time for dinner, we had the grass fed burger and the birria beef tacos. They were both 10/10! I have never eaten better birria tacos (they were superb), and my husband’s burger was juicy and perfectly cooked. My dad is also a farmer, so I love the fact that everything on their menu is sourced from local farms. I’ve already recommended this place to my whole family! We will definitely be back.

This restaurant has their food directly delivered from the farms. They tasted fresh and good. I went there for lunch after a long hike and got a salad, though tasty not very filling. Should have gone with a sandwich or burgers. Their fried potatoes were really tasty.

Was in the area dropping someone off and stopped here, everything was amazing! Ordered a grass fed Hamburger with no pickles and with a side of crispy potatoes for $15. The burger was delicious and the crispy potatoes were huge! You definitely get a good quality and quantity of food. I asked for ketchup to dip the potatoes in and they brought ketchup AND aioli which definitely made the potatoes better. Stop here if you ever get a chance.

Absolutely the best food you will get in the entire area, food can’t be fresher. Get extra fries to go, best fries in country in my opinion. Burger, brussel sprouts, birria tacos, pork belly were all

Excellent choice for Farm-to-Table fare, located within easy reach of either interstate. Our lunch was excellent, the flavors fresh and delicious with this chef’s interpretations. Try the refreshing watermelon salad, sample locally sourced bourbon and single malts, and be prepared to be impressed! Even their grilled cheese is a cut above!

I love finding restaurants who embrace quality and variety while having a menu that goes slightly outside the box while maintaining approachability.

Ok. Y’all need to move this restaurant to Colorado, so I don’t have to make cross-country trips to the boondocks. AMAZING food. This ranks up there with best of all time in my little international life.
