With so many taquerias in Houston, how does one know which one is the honey hole of taco Tuesday!? With so much taco love in America’s phat city of good food, this dive takes you back to the days of Stephen Austin defending the Alamo. Sweet baby Jesus delicious with flavors going air borne straight to your chops! Los tacos al Pastor are the real Mckoy!

I would have left 5 stars but let me explain why. The food really was outstanding but they have some flaws. My order was a whole pollo with sides. When my order came out the sides were SMALL I mean barely bigger than a sauce cup. I had to hold my rice hostage because 3 spoon full and it was done. When we walked in it was kinda like we weren’t there at all. No acknowledgment or “buenas tardes” just doing other things that looked like they weren’t doing much at all. Secondly my wife ordered tacos and they forgot. i seen it wrote down on the paper ticket, maybe that’s the issue they aren’t technologically advanced with their system? Who knows. They didn’t say they were sorry they forgot or anything just said it’ll be right out and hushed her away basically. I didn’t like that at all. I also had to wait a LONG time. If you’re going to have customers wait a long time, you should have free salsa and chips. One the men had EARPHONES in and my wife went to speak to him and said that he seemed “Eh” or rude when she spoke to him. For ME, I won’t go back to eat inside unless my wife wants to sit in.

We decided to see if they had any breakfast tacos but we had no luck after 1pm. We were still in the mood for tacos and we got two bistec, two barbacoa, and two trompo tacos. They had a good taste and were filing but it’s just tacos and they were kind of expensive. The price came out to 14.00 I really love not having to get down so I will maybe give them some thought if I ever decide to put in a order to go.

I highly recommend this spot if you Love Tacos De Trompo their are about the best in the area and maybe all of Houston. Be aware to great the trompo tacos only when you see the guy outside in front of the buisness because rhats when its the authentic Tacos de Trompo. Note that since they have such good food the wait can be about 20mins or so. I would recommend their Mexican Burger either regular or double as well as their charro beans preparados! Hidden gem of the South of Houston!

The street taco was good but so tiny. They were the mini corn tortilla. The quesadilla I had was a little to salty for me. I would go back through.

Sunday night is nice. There is music and outdoor grill smells amazing. I had the El pastor tacos. They were good especially for the price 5 tacos for 10 dollars. Worth a try.

Tacos are good, the trompo tacos taste better with meat fresh from the trompo.

Was hopeful after reading the reviews to try a new place. Ordered the libra de Barbacoa. Have never been served Barbacoa swimming in grease! This doesn’t look like a pound either. It included only 3 tortillas. Most def not worth $15.

First time coming here and it’s expensive. $9 for three tacos. They don’t even have breakfast tacos, like potato and beans, beans and eggs, or whatever. Only barbacoa and chicharon entero, but I ain’t going to lie that chicharrón looked really good. The maiz tortilla fell apart real quick. I won’t be coming here again
