SICHUAN CUISINE(四川菜)
Spicy Roast Fish(麻辣烤鱼)/(25.00/IB)⭐⭐⭐⭐
This recipe is a bit complicated to cook and does requires a fe authentic seasonings. The fish is roasted until moist and tender, with a crispy surface. The accompanying vegetables are cooked in Szechuan hot sauce and savory black bean paste, with pickled peppers, to impart a pungent and spicy flavor. A party for the eyes and the taste buds comes together in a single dish. After the fish is cooked, the thick sauce is added on top, with tons of veggies cooked in it. In a restaurant, the fish is served in a huge metal tray with a mini stove below to keep it warm. This way, the veggies will continue to be cooked in the sauce until charred and super flavorful.
$75.00
Sichuan Boiled Fish(沸腾鱼)/(25.00/IB)⭐⭐⭐⭐
It uses bowls of dried chili peppers, Sichuan peppercorn, and doubanjiang to create a rich, savory, spicy, and intense aromatic broth. The fish is very thinly sliced, marinated, and cooked briefly in the broth until tender and juicy. It is then finished up by pouring hot oil over the fish and the broth. The boiling oil will further cook the spices to release more fragrance. Every bite of fish will be thinly coated with the sauce and fragrant oil, giving it the most satisfying sensation. The dish is usually served in a giant bowl with a bed of vegetables hidden under the fish. The veggies are so nicely seasoned that they’re just as good as the fish.
$75.00
Sliced Fish With Ickled Greens(酸菜鱼)/(25.00/IB)⭐⭐⭐⭐
Suan Cai Yu can be translated as “hot and sour fish with pickled mustard greens”. The fish is thinly sliced and poached in a rich broth made from chicken stock, fish stock, and Sichuan pickles. The fish has a velvety and silky texture, with a piquant and zesty taste. It is a great dinner dish that you will find really comforting and satisfying on a chilly day.
$75.00
Crispy Spicy Chicken(歌乐山辣子鸡)⭐⭐⭐
And you know what? My guests always ended up loving this dish.Sichuan Mala Chicken is spicy, but doesn’t taste as spicy as it looks. Sichuan cuisine pursues truly bold flavors that are well-balanced. In this chicken dish, the balance comes from the spiciness and smokiness of chili peppers, the numbing tingling Sichuan peppercorns, the nuttiness of sesame seeds, savory aromatics, salt, and sugar. The dish offers a deep savory taste by using heat as a medium.
$31.99
Sichuan Boiled Beef(“麻辣水煮牛)⭐⭐⭐
“Water boiling” (水煮) is a unique cooking method originated in Sichuan cuisine. Of course, delicious beef slices cannot be achieved via “cooking in water”. The meat (fish, pork and beef) is well coated with a “protection shell” made from water and starch. This special layer of shell, on one hand, prevents the beef from being spoiled by the hot broth and on the other hand helps to keep the juice inside.Another surprise of the dish, in addition to the beef slice, is the vegetables at the bottom. They can absorb enough flavor form the broth, even though they are not boiled in the broth directly. Popular options about bottom vegetables are cabbage, bean sprouts, celery, mushrooms and lettuce head.
$31.99
Xinjiang Big Plate Chicken (新疆大盘鸡)⭐⭐⭐
ere are varying origin stories for this dish. Uyghur locals claim that it’s not actually from Xinjiang but is a part of Hui cuisine, with influences from a Sichuan migrant. Nevertheless, this is an iconic dish that can be found on every menu in Beijing’s Xinjiang restaurants.Big Plate Chicken is a shared dish and is typically ordered by the half or full plate, with or without noodles. First comes the bubbling plate of chicken with soft potatoes and crunchy peppers.
$31.99
Boiled Spicy Pork(水煮肉片)⭐⭐⭐
This dish is literally called “water boiled beef” (shui zhu niu rou) in Chinese. But if you’ve ever tried it in China, you know it has nothing to do with water or boiling. It is actually a super hot and spicy dish that involves melt-in-your-mouth beef with some veggies in a ton of oil. Just in case if you’ve never tried it, the numbingly spicy silky beef is so addictively delicious that you cannot stop eating, even if it makes your stomach burn.
$31.99
(Spicy Crayfish小龙虾) $29.99
Spicy Dry-Fried Beef(香辣炒牛肉)⭐⭐⭐
This is a typical Sichuan technique for dry-frying beef. Unlike most meat stir-fries, the beef is not marinated; instead it is stir-fried immediately then cooked for a few minutes longer to intensify the beef flavors and to give give the meat a slightly chewy texture. Even the carrots and celery are stir-fried until they are “dried.” The result is a dish that is a little salty, fiery, and peppery, with a touch of sweetness from the vegetables.
$24.99
Spicy Sizzling Tofu(香辣铁板豆腐)⭐⭐⭐
Main ingredients: Northern tofuAccessories: pepper powder, chili powder, salt, pepper, green onion1. Mix pepper powder, chili powder, salt and pepper well.2. Heat oil pan, add tofu pieces in order and fry slowly over medium heat. Fry until tofu skin is browned, turn over and continue to fry. 3. When tofu is done frying, sprinkle with seasoning mix. Spread the seasoning evenly over the tofu surface.
$21.99
Spicy Stir-Fried Cumin Beef(孜然牛)
A tender and flavorful stir fry Beef with cumin. This easy and quick stir fry beef dish makes for the perfect last-minute dinner meal. The meat is infused with aromatic spices, making it extremely delicious but not overpowering. If you are in the mood for some ethnic food then this recipe is for you!
$21.99
Dry Pot Chicken(干锅鸡) $21.99
Dry Pot Chicken Wing And Prawns(干锅翅中虾) $31.99
Dry Pot With Potato (干锅土豆片)⭐⭐⭐ $21.99
Dry Pot White Broccoli(干锅菜花) $21.99
Dry Pot Ribs And Prawns(干锅排骨虾) $31.99
Kung Pao Chicken(宫保鸡丁)⭐⭐⭐
This Kung Pao chicken is an easy, authentic Chinese dish made with crisp chicken breast, peanuts, and chile peppers in a sauce made from soy sauce, black vinegar, and sesame oil.Kung Pao chicken, for those who’ve only ever seen it on Chinese menus and not ordered it, consists of a lightly sweet-and-sour sauce infused with the complexity (and slightly lip-tingling qualities) of Sichuan peppercorns. The tastes and the textures are all different yet extraordinarily complementary in that balanced yin and yang sorta way, to say nothing of the dish’s impressive appearance when served straight from the wok.
$21.99
Yushuan Eggplant With Tofu (鱼香茄子豆腐) $24.99
Twice Cooked Pork(回锅肉)
The dish takes some effort to prepare. Just like its name suggested, this dish requires you to cook the pork twice. You need to simmer the whole piece of pork until cooked, then stir fry it with the sauce. Second, you need to use pork belly to achieve that rich taste.Tender fatty pork cooked in a rich scrumptious sauce that is savory, slightly sweet, spicy, and bursting with umami.
$19.99
Sichuan Shrimp Stir Fry(四川辣炒虾仁)⭐⭐⭐
Authentic Chinese restaurant-style Sichuan shrimp is quick enough for a weeknight meal and delivers a crispy texture and richly aromatic, utterly divine flavor with that signature Sichuan spice.Food from Sichuan province is such a treat if you’re into bold flavors. The aromatics that go into Sichuan dishes always have me salivating. The chile peppers, tingly peppercorns, and fermented umami bomb of doubanjiang combine for a zesty and irresistible experience.

The food here is absolutely AMAZING. Don’t let the prices scare you away. Yes, it is a little more expensive than other area Chinese restaurants, but the quality it WORTH IT, with unique dishes you won’t find anywhere else around here, and the portion sizes are MASSIVE — these are definitely meant for sharing. The waitstaff are very helpful in offering suggestions and explaining unfamiliar dishes, and last time they improvised a dish just for my child. Plenty of options for vegetarians!

If I could give this restaurant a 10 I would. Yes, it can be spicy but please research about Northern Chinese Food and if you can’t handle spicy ask for adjustments. They’re wonderful about making the dish perfect for you. Also, the size of a dish is very big so it is sharable, don’t make the price scare you it worth it!!!

1. If you are typical Michigander and don’t eat spicy things, make sure you look at the beautiful pictures accompanying the menu items and choose something that doesn’t have chilies…

Very relaxed atmosphere… This was the first time I’ve had dry hot pot chicken (and yes, I ordered it Medium spicy). The chicken was fried nice, light, fragrant, and juicy inside. The peppers, cilantro, and peanuts all balanced the flavours of the chili and hot oil. The dish is quite flavourful.

We really enjoy coming here. I love the old mother pork belly. I always request it without the Szechuan peppercorns. That flavor is not something that appeals to me. The chinese sausage fried rice is yummy here! Very good. I will definitely go back.
