Restaurant Tyler is one of the best restaurants in Mississippi. The lunch special is always consistently delicious. Service, atmosphere, and quality of food using the freshest ingredients is outstanding.

Served here for about 2 weeks. I’ve never experienced so many micro aggressions in my life. My second day, I was told that I “looked like” I didn’t want to be there. Mind you I was the only black server. After a few days, I worked my first brunch shift and no one said anything to me unless it was about how good the watermelon was. The expos are DISGUSTING. No one uses any gloves to prepare your food. He scraped a whole piece of cheese off this lady’s burger w/ his BARE FINGER and sent it back out to her. When they did finally decide to fire me, it was only my second day out of training and I was told that they didn’t think the job was for me as if I couldn’t decide myself. I wasn’t even given a chance to work out the full probation period. The whole time I was there, I experienced nothing but micro aggressions and prejudice. I wouldnt recommend eating here at all and if you saw how your food was prepped, you wouldn’t either.

I ordered the cabbage salad without the cheese and dressing with the sweet potato cornbread. Also the corn. My food was delicious. I did not like that the bathrooms were a little messy and the restaurant floors were not kept. They were closing in an hour and a half, so maybe that is why. I will for sure come back for the cabbage!

I went to restaurant Tyler for the first time last week. The food and service was amazing. My waitress Rose was so helpful in helping my partner and I decided what to order. She recommended the lamb gnocchi and crawfish dip which were both spectacular. Will be coming back!!

I have been here for a Sunday special brunch. The environment inside was good. It was pretty crowded, and we had to wait 15 minutes to get a table. They did not give us enough attention; and the reason could be, we were the underdressed one compared to the crowd ! ( well, that’s my personal thought), or we were the only international ! ( who knows!). We ordered chicken meat loaf and southern omelette. Both were pretty mediocre. The cheesy grit ( one of the sides) was good though. The orange juice was not freshly squeezed one. The coffee was good, but there was no cream and sugar on the table. I had to ask for it. However, they forgot to provide a stirrer. The waiter girl was sweet and tried her best, however the over all experience was not up to the mark compared to their upscale reputation.

I’ve been getting the jambalaya pasta since it came on the menu around 2009-10. Consistency over the years and the flavor are both top notch. The blue plate is also a winner and you can’t go wrong with any entree.

Fried catfish battered and slathered with a creamy sauce loaded with crawfish is an excellent dish. It’s a large plate and could feed two. Grilled mahi with brussel sprouts was ok, but the catfish is the dish to have if you are here. If you want dessert have the king cake but pass on the bread pudding, which seemed a bit rubbery in texture. Service was very good. Fast and efficient.

Heard a good brunch could be had at restaurant Tyler but did not expect the decadent food reminiscent of New Orleans. Our server recommended the river biscuit with extra sauce. It was amazing! The tomato gorgonzola soup was both substantial and delicious.
