The wife and I wanted to try this high end chop house while being in the area for other things. Ended up getting a few appetizers, lobster, steak, and dessert. The food was good but when you factor in the price, we were severely disappointed. Everything seemed to lack flavor and relied on presentation more than the food. My wife’s filet was overcooked and charred on one side, which made it a little tough. My steak was good but I’ve had similar steaks for half the price at other steak houses or Italian restaurant. The cake was huge but it tasted like it came from the fridge and had been there a little while. I will say the service was great and everything came out quickly and they never let a glass get empty or a dish stay on the table too long. We would most likely not go back

This is THE steakhouse in Birmingham. Food is great atmosphere is solid. Some may think it leans bougie but all shapes and sizes and styles are welcome. The cats in valet are great. The hostesses are great. The staff are great. Heck the guy who was up from Sarasota treated my daughter and I like kings. Always a wonderful experience.

My wife and I celebrated our 1st Wedding Anniversary at Hyde Park in Birmingham. Our reservation was made through Open Table and I indicated in the comment section that it was our anniversary. We have been to a number of restaurants in Birmingham, but not Hyde Park. It did not disappoint. We were greeted by the maitre de with “Happy 1st Anniversary.” Our table was sprinkled with rose pedals and there was a card signed by the restaurant staff. After our sever introduced herself and also wished us a “Happy Anniversary,” she was followed soon after by the floor manager doing the same. The service was exceptional and the food was phenomenal. I brought a special bottle of wine and paid a small corkage fee. No issues with that. (My wife isn’t a fan of red wine so she had two glasses off the wine list). Finally we were brought a complimentary dessert, again because of our celebration. We took food in boxes with us because the portions were so healthy. Our entrees were bone in rib-eye and a salmon selection. Both were excellent. We also had calamari as an appetizer which was the best I’ve ever had. Our total bill was $300 including a 20% tip. Highly recommend.

Have eaten here several times and keep going back. The food and service are great most times. Steak is sometimes inconsistent but overall very good. Side dishes and cocktails are delicious. My only issue is the bill is sometimes wrong and includes over charges. It Has happened on a few occasions with myself, other family members and friends. But overall very good food with nice employees.

This place has really good food and the service is incredible. The hostess Diana was amazing and our server were very nice and friendly. If you plan on coming here be sure to have reservations in advance, as they’re always busy. Their steaks and lamb chops are excellent, the burger is also very good. The sides are also very good, the creamed corn and gratin potato were my favorites. The dessert was also very good, I loved the cheesecake and the creme brûlée as they were very tasty (I forgot to take a pictures of them). Overall, the atmosphere is great, and the bathrooms are nice and clean. If I have a special event in future, I’ll be back.
