First time visitors. This is what I would consider your average chain sushi with a hippie vibe. That’s not a negative. It’s better than H-E-B sushi but not going to blow your tastebuds away. The presentation of the sushi is phenomenal but it was loosely rolled so they came apart easy. We ordered a Veggie roll, the Thrill, and a signature roll the Mountain. All the rolls were decent but lacked something. The ingredients were fresh but I felt like the rolls were just missing a little something that would take them to above average. The wait staff was very good and attentive. They ensured we were checked on routinely. I wouldn’t drive out of my way for the sushi but would definitely go again if invited with friends. The prices are a bit steep for the flavor quality but Sushi prices are typically high at any restaurant.

I’ll be damned if this place doesn’t get shut down soon – either by the health department or from people just realizing they’re wasting their money on some truly awful sushi.

First time to visit, we will be back! Very attentive waitress. Appetizers were tasty, rolls were fresh with great flavor. We learned you sit at the bar for all you can eat sushi by asking sushi chefs, tables ordered only by menu with no all you can eat option. We are avid sushi eaters and compared prices after we ate, definitely worth the all you can eat proce wise. Previous posted review was very inaccurate sounds like a pre-menopausal woman that is jobless.

All You Can Eat !!! Food is delicious and has a fresh taste. Fast friendly service. Great, open, clean atmosphere. Drinks on point. Luna created a roll that with every bite and piece had a new flavor to experience. Staff is wonderful attentive, personable all what has been missing when dining out. I’m sorry I can’t name everyone to give . Trappers was our favorite place to go in WA. Now we get to have here in SA. Signature wonderful taste!!

Travelled to San Antonio for business. Was recommended to Trappers! Josh and Destiny were amazing friendly chefs! I arrived for their all you can eat sushi and Josh provided such amazing customer service and took good care of me! All the staff were from different backgrounds and personalities! Definitely going back again!

Our overall experience and atmosphere was very pleasant. Relaxing cool air to come in to out of the extreme 107 degree heat. Our wait time was 25 minutes, but they seated us in less than 10 minutes. The dishes were beautifully prepared. The flavors of the hot sauce and eel and spicy crab meat will send your brain reeling if you are a spice lover! Very flavorful, but lacking fish. Excellent if you love a lot of cream cheese, eel sauce, crab meat teriyaki teriyaki teriyaki. Our servers were very friendly and attentive. A friend next to us said the miso soup was spot on because the tofu was perfect! I didn’t have any miso soup, so I have no comment except their comment. Price-wise unless you’re a timid eater, don’t get the all you can eat for $26/$36. Delicious but extremely filling. Better to go with a group to taste more than one entree!

Update: I had to try this place again since everyone kept saying that Trappers Sushi is awful! Sadly, things have changed and I have to agree. From service not being welcoming to the menu changing for the worse. I have pictures from when this place opened of the Puyallup not being a fried sushi roll. Now that it is, the salmon is overcooked and the avocado comes out brown. Not to mention, the roll itself is extremely dripping in oil. Also, I decided to get the cucumber martini and had to send it back as there were seeds floating in my drink. You really need to pay attention to what you’re serving people.

Our waitress was great and nice. The atmosphere is good. The food however is nothing special. The teriyaki chicken was alright. The rice and fried veggies (zucchini, asparagus, onion) BLAND NO SEASONING. Ordered some sushi rock and roll was just mushy and VERY VERY SPICEY. I will no be returning they are overpriced. Especially after spending $70.

Food was great, service was alright, the server acted like we were bothering him, just ordering food. Waited at the front for a good 10 minutes before someone greeted us and then she sat us in another section. We spent over $70 there and felt service could have been better. Granted we got the higher priced Lobster rolls and about 3 other sushi rolls, but not worth it when the service is not great.
