Luby’s great but only giving it 4 out if 5 because the area around this Luby’s is not very safe. Lots of vagrants begging in the parking lot for moneu. The food was great, the service was streamlined and proficient and the servers were very nice.

Been eating here for years. Mother and myself had dinner here and missed the cafeteria style experience. Ordered my go to fish super flakey and delicious. My sides were hot and filling, broccoli with extra cheese and mashed potatoes. Its been a staple in my life for years.

Hadn’t been to Lubys since I was a kid. The entree selection was good and so was the sides and dessert selection. Our server did an awesome job. The chicken fried steak was over seasoned and was very salty. I couldn’t enjoy it like I wanted to. Boxed it up and brought it home for my boys and they said the same thing about the taste. The portions were a generous size though. I would like to try it again maybe the kitchen staff just had an off day. I would like to try the other entrees the next time I go. Overall I enjoyed the presentation of the food and the portions.

Went after church with the family for some amusement! The service was excellent, fake or not! You would have never known they were understaffed. The workers serving to the host and hostesses were great. The atmosphere was pretty good as well as it was family friendly and easy for individual to move around, good space between tables, and the noise was minimal considering the location. The food was not bad at all although, I would hope in the future they would forgive how to make the food warmer so by the time you get to the table since the place is well air conditioned, it will not be luke warm by the time you start eating. All in all, I would recommend.

New to San Antonio and decided to go out for Thanksgiving this year. Luby’s was suggested. Bit of a line out the door, but it moved quickly. Cafeteria system is quick and efficient. Decent to large portions were served, couldn’t finish my entire meal. Arrived at 2:30pm and by then they had already ran out of ham for the Thanksgiving special, which is understandable. The turkey was good, as was the macaroni and cheese. Everything else was pretty average. The one thing that did bother me was that I served myself strawberry Fanta, but instead it dispensed Big Red, and for some reason it tasted dirty/dusty? I don’t know if it was the soda or the cup. Besides that, all good. Service was great, we had a tall gentleman attending to us and checking if we needed anything. The type of setting this restaurant is, it felt unnecessary, but I appreciated his attentiveness.

Went on 03/29/23 my wife’s and I 4th wedding anniversary. Even though we got there around 720pm or so they close at 8, there was still a lot of people. The food was still fresh and the staff was friendly. I do suggest you pay with card or make sure you have exact change cause according to the cashier, they have no coins to give change which is the only downfall hence the 3 stars for service. Other than that the food was hot and still a great selection when we got there.

The service from the food line, cashier, to the table service was very good. The restaurant was clean. The food, however, was not as good as I remember. It needed a little more seasoning on several items and not too fresh tasting. Iconic items like crusted Mac & cheese and fluffy cheesecake were not available, but I would return because the atmosphere was nice.
